She Remembers

A psychological-horror companion: a doll that follows you, talks with a real voice, and remembers everything you do. At dusk a fate is rolled — your nights depend on how you treat her.

What's new

She comes to Fabric — and she stops making things up

Two things at once, and if you already have her, the second one matters more.

She no longer remembers things that never happened. You could start a brand-new world, say nothing, build nothing, press the talk key — and she would tell you "wow, what a beautiful thing you built." The old prompt showed her an example conversation so she would know how to sound, and she could not tell those examples from her own past. What she has seen and what you have told her are now a closed list kept apart from anything written to teach her how to sound, and when that list is empty it says so out loud. Asked about something she was never shown, she says she was never shown it — "You never showed me. Show me and I'll think." — instead of filling the silence. Every reply is checked before you hear it and before she remembers it, so an invented house can no longer become "our house" six turns later. She has stopped sounding like an assistant, too: no offers of help, no summarising your sentence back at you, no compliments.

Measured, old head against new: 434 real generations on two local models, same seeds, English and Hebrew, scored blind. On the author's own model (gemma3:27b): inventions about your life 8.6% → 0.0% (Hebrew 12.5% → 0.0%), assistant-speak 2.2% → 0.0%, compliments 1.1% → 0.0%.

And the honest edges of that. None of it was seen in a running game before release — it was measured outside Minecraft, against the exact files in the jar and the exact prompt the mod builds. She is also only as good as the brain on your machine: her truthfulness is enforced in code, so a small model does not get to invent, but more of its lines are thrown away and what you hear instead is one of her own written lines — true, hers, and more obviously authored, so a weak brain repeats itself sooner. qwen2.5:7b is the recommended model now. And she still ends on a question about a third of the time; that one is written down and not fixed here.

Two files, one mod. There are two files on this page now, and one of them is hers on Fabric. Same doll, same notebook, same night — built from the same source, in the same commit, under the same version number. Not a port that lags behind: the two jars go up together or not at all.

⚠️ Download the file that names your loader. SheRemembers-neoforge-26.1.2-1.1.0.jar or SheRemembers-fabric-26.1.2-1.1.0.jar. The wrong one is not a crash and not an error — it is a mods/ folder your loader quietly ignores and a world where she never arrives. If she does not turn up on your second night, check the filename first.

On Fabric you need: Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, Fabric API (a real requirement — the mod will not start without it), and Minecraft 26.1.2 on Java 25. On NeoForge nothing changes.

GeckoLib is inside both jars. Do not install it separately — a second copy on top is the one reliable way to break an install that would otherwise have worked.

Shaders on Fabric have one extra rule: Iris will not start there without Sodium 0.9.1 for 26.1.2 (the build marked release, not the alpha). On NeoForge, Iris runs alone. The ECLIPSE pack is the identical file on both loaders, still ships inside the mod, still never turns itself on.

Everything is there on Fabric: the dusk fate, the monster, the Forgotten Forest, the notebook ward, voice, her learned language, the eclipse sky, the fog, the horror grade, the god rays and the bone-and-blood boss bars — drawn by the same code, because it is the same code.

Your config moves. config/projecteclipse-common.toml is one file with one format on both loaders; copy it across and every tuned value takes.

NeoForge players: your sky is meant to look exactly as it did. It is drawn by the shared renderer both loaders now use, and it is supposed to be pixel-for-pixel the 1.0.0 sky. If yours looks different, that is a bug worth reporting, not a change.

Optional shaders: Iris 1.11.3 for your loader; on Fabric, Sodium 0.9.1 as well. The pack also publishes separately as Afterimage — She Remembers Shaders.
