She Remembers 0.9.3 — NeoForge + ECLIPSE Shaders
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
⚠️ Install NeoForge for this one, not Forge
Same Minecraft (1.21.1), same mod, same everything — the loader underneath it changed, so grab NeoForge 21.1.x instead of Forge and drop the jar in as usual.
Your world is safe. The save format is identical and her mod id never changed, so an existing world opens exactly as you left it: the same doll, the same notebook, the same relationship, the same language she learned from you, every memory intact. There is nothing to convert and nothing to back up beyond what you would normally keep. The one thing that does not carry over is Forge itself — a Forge install refuses this jar outright rather than loading it half-broken, which is the failure you want if you point the wrong launcher at it.
And this is why it happened: shaders. Iris, the shaderpack loader that everything beautiful you have ever seen in Minecraft runs on, has never supported Forge on any version — and on 1.21.1 it ships for NeoForge alone. So for as long as she lived on Forge, she and a real shaderpack could not be in the same installation, and the mod's own lighting was the ceiling. That wall is now gone, and this release walks straight through it.
✦ ECLIPSE — a shaderpack built for her
It ships inside the mod. Join a world once with Iris installed and one line appears in chat with an [ Install ECLIPSE shaders ] button; click it and the pack lands in your shaderpacks/ folder. It is never turned on for you — you pick it in Iris's own screen, and you can drop it just as easily.
- Real sun shadows — a tree casts a tree, and the shape of it stretches through the day
- Volumetric fog you can see the light standing in, and shafts of sun and moon through branches
- A real sky: a round sun instead of vanilla's enormous square, with limb darkening and glare
- Clouds with a lit side and a dark side, laying their shadows on the world below
- Water that reflects, grass and leaves that move in gusts crossing a field, and ground that goes dark and slick after rain
- Morning mist five times heavier than noon, burning off as the sun climbs
- Your eyes adjust — step out of a lit cabin into the night and it is a few seconds before you can see again
- The Forgotten Forest gets its own light entirely — its own dead air, not the overworld dimmed
- And the grade answers to how things stand between you and her, below the level you would notice
You need none of it. Without Iris the mod looks and plays exactly as intended, and every one of its own lighting systems stands down the moment a real shaderpack takes over so the two never fight.
> ### ⚠️ If you want the shaders, get the Sodium version right
> Iris 1.8.12 needs Sodium 0.6.13 — not the newest Sodium. The latest release gives you 0.8.x, and that pair does not merely warn: the game crashes while the world is loading, before it draws a frame, with MixinPreProcessorException ... useFogOcclusion. If you see that, this is why.
Also in this release
- She sounds like herself. Every scare used to borrow the Warden's audio. Now all thirteen of her sounds are her own, built from what she actually is — cloth, a seam pulling tight, a button knocking on wood, a music box with a tooth missing. Her footsteps are fabric. And the thing that stands up at night is the same sounds, grown to the size of a house. You hear the seams
- Love finally holds the night shut. If she trusts you, the monster genuinely stays away — that was supposed to be true before and the arithmetic quietly undid it
- And she never turns in your hands, or while you are watching her. Set her down, turn away, and look back
- The block textures are Minecraft's own again. The mod used to repaint fifty of them; they were worse than the originals and the shaderpack does that job properly now
Requires Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.x and Java 21.
