What's new

Added

  • Hollow Whistle: the Wicked Magician now drops one every time a player kills him. Blow it and three wicked bats come to fight for you for 30 seconds: anything that targets you, anything you attack and anything that attacks you, creepers included. They have twice a wild bat's health, bite for half again a wolf's damage, and fly a little faster than an angry enderman. You can't blow it again until they're gone. It lasts 128 uses. Blowing it for the first time earns The Piper's Call, a side quest off A witch's secret.
  • The Wicked Magician now calls his bats by playing the hollow whistle.
  • Ruined throne: a rare new structure in dappled forests and swamps (swamps only before 26.3). A small, half-buried dais of broken stone brick with a tuff brick throne crowned in gold, ringed by bones, a skull and pumpkins. It is much rarer than the wicked barn.
  • Ghostly armour: a helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots crafted from ghostly essence in the iron armour shapes. Iron's protection, durability and enchantability; mended on an anvil with ghostly essence; drawn see-through when worn. Wear all four and you are veiled: invisible but for a faint shade of you, your first-person arm included, and no monster targets you (bosses excepted). Striking anything tears the veil for 10 seconds, and shows you solid while it is torn. Collecting the set earns Not a Soul in Sight, a side quest off Laid to rest.

Changed

  • Wicked bats fly a little slower and turn more slowly, so their dives are easier to dodge.
  • The Harvest Lich now leaps onto ledges up to 6 blocks high (was 4), and jumps up onto overhangs such as tree canopies instead of waiting underneath a player stood on top of a tree. On a tree too tall to leap onto, it rides out to where it can see you over the leaves and throws rotten pumpkins from there.
  • The Harvest Lich no longer forgets that it can't reach you while its horse waits at the foot of a wall or tree, or wanders about there, so it starts throwing rotten pumpkins reliably.
  • The Harvest Lich's cape now hangs in five strips that ripple at rest and stream back and flap while its horse gallops. It lies back over the horse's rump and no longer passes through the lich's head or into the horse.
  • The Harvest Lich's golden chestplate now has a spiked pauldron on each shoulder, a bracer above each hand, and a glowing lime-green gem set in the breast.
  • The Harvest Lich's golden hoe is now drawn as a long harvest scythe with a glowing edge. It still fights the same.
  • The Harvest Lich's steed has a look of its own: bare bones round a glowing soul core, with soul-fire eyes, mane and tail, and soul fire round its hooves. Its golden horse armour is now a horned face plate, neck rings, a breastplate, foreleg plates and gold shoes.
  • A ghost's soul fireball now goes out when it enters water, so it no longer burns swimmers or lights the bottom of a lake.
