Description

Seasonal: The Wicked Harvest
Beat the Harvest Lich, and your scarecrows will farm for you.
Seasonal is about the eerie side of farming. Scarecrows keep monsters off your fields, ghosts hunt you after dark, a witch's cauldron brews only by moonlight, and at the end of it all a crowned scarecrow rides out on a skeleton horse. Survive that, and you can wake a scarecrow that harvests, replants and hauls your crops to a chest.

What's inside
- Scarecrows that keep hostile mobs out of a 15-block radius
- A boss fight against the Harvest Lich, tougher than the Wither
- Six new mobs: ghosts, evil scarecrows, wicked pumpkins, wicked bats, a wicked farmer and a wicked magician
- Two new structures: the abandoned wicked barn and the witch tower
- The witch cauldron, a brewing pot with its own fire and its own rules
- Scarecrow farmhands that work any crop, including modded ones
- Jack o'lanterns in evil and green-flamed wicked variants, plus small hanging ones
- A full advancement tab that walks you through the whole journey
The journey

- Build a scarecrow from hay, sticks and a pumpkin. Monsters keep their distance.
- Grow pumpkins. Now and then one comes up rotten, and that's the only way to get one.
- Hunt ghosts after dark for ghostly essence.
- Learn a witch's secret. Witches and the wicked magician drop wicked knowledge, which unlocks the witch cauldron.
- Brew wicked resin at night over soul fire, and use it to wake an evil scarecrow.
- Raise the Harvest Lich at its altar and defeat it for the Spirit of the Harvest.
- Brew hallowed resin in daylight with the Spirit as a catalyst, and wake a friendly scarecrow that works your fields.

The advancement tab gives a hint for every step, so you can play it without a wiki.
The Harvest Lich

A scarecrow that crowned itself, riding a skeleton horse you can't kill separately. Summon it after dark by stacking a block of wicked resin, a block of gold and an evil carved pumpkin, with a rotten pumpkin on each side of the gold.
- Golden hoe at close range
- Trample charge: a roar, then a straight-line gallop. It never corrects, so watch and step aside.
- Wicked pumpkins fly at its side, spitting orbs that leave a green haze. Shoot them down and more arrive.
- No hiding. Pillar up or wall yourself in where the horse can't reach, and it lobs rotten pumpkins over the cover to knock you off.
Creatures of the harvest

- Ghost: fast, fragile and relentless. It chases you even after you break line of sight, throws soul fireballs and fades at dawn.
- Evil Scarecrow: a tough hunter. Wear a carved pumpkin and it takes you for one of its own, until you hit it.
- Wicked Pumpkin: the lich's flying escort.
- Wicked Farmer: the villager who stayed on at the barn after something moved in.
- Wicked Magician: an evoker gone sour. He summons bats, hexes you with haze and blinks away whenever you get close.
- Wicked Bat: dives, bites and circles back.
- Friendly Scarecrow: harmless, heals on wheat and pumpkins, and works your farm.
Places to explore
Abandoned wicked barn

A ruined barn beside a field gone wild in the dappled forest. Some hide a cellar under the hay, with a witch cauldron, a roosting wicked bat and a farmer who never left.
Witch tower

A crooked stone tower in swamps and dark forests. Climb past the brewing room and the library to the top, where the wicked magician waits with two witches. It's the surest way to get wicked knowledge.
The witch cauldron

A kettle on legs over its own campfire. Light it with flint and steel, feed it soul sand for soul fire, and put it out with a shovel. Toss ingredients in or use its screen, which shows exactly what the brew is still waiting for: a full pot, the right fire, the right time of day and the catalyst. Hoppers work too.
Scarecrow farmhands
Right-click a friendly scarecrow, press Choose a chest, and click the chest. From then on it:
- Harvests ripe crops around it and replants them with real seeds
- Picks pumpkins and melons off the stem and berries off the bush without breaking the plant
- Collects only farm produce, never your random drops
- Never tramples farmland
- Pauses when the chest is full and starts again once there's room
Modpack friendly
- Modded crops and seeds work out of the box, and tags let you add anything that doesn't
- Delivers into storage mods, barrels, hoppers and anything else that accepts items
- Respects
mobGriefingand claim mods - Scarecrow radius is configurable, and the ward, loot and spawns are all data-driven
