This mod adds two rival Origins related to the Sculk Horde: the Pure One and the Infester, as well as stages/evolutions for each. The Pure One must defeat the Sculk Horde, while the Infester will join and spread it.
I would love to get any feedback you have after playing as these origins. Feedback is how I will continue improving this mod. Please, comment here or post in the #addon-sculk-horde-origins channel in the Team Peril Discord!
Config options - sculk_horde_origins-common.toml
Infester Options
- Make Infester only available through commands
- Change the spawn location of the Infester (0 = Default spawn | 1 = Ancient City | 2 = Sculk Tomb)
Pure One Options
- Make Pure One only available through commands
- Modify a list of what armor is "Pure" (Default: Golden Armor)
- Modify a list of what items are "Slightly Pure"
- Modify a list of what items are "Moderately Pure"
- Modify a list of what items are "Extremely Pure"
Other Options
- Enable/Disable recipe to craft two amethyst shards from an amethyst block (Default enabled)
Note: To enable and disable other powers, look for these origins in the config file origins-common.toml (Careful - this might cause errors with certain powers)
Origin powers and descriptions:
Pure One
The Pure One is very strong against the Sculk Horde, capable of purifying large areas of infection quickly, especially in the later stages of the Horde. Without the Horde, it is no stronger than a human. While the Horde is active, The Pure One cannot sleep, and it has difficulty traveling far from the center of the overworld or entering other dimensions. The Pure One must manage its Purity carefully - running out can prove life-threatening.

Purity Sources:
Natural Regen - 1 unit per 8 seconds
Sunlight - 1 unit per 8 seconds
Pure Chestplate - 1 unit per 8 seconds
Pure Leggings - 1 unit per 8 seconds
Pure Helmet & Boots - 1 unit per 8 seconds
"Slightly Pure" items* (Essense of Purity) - 1 unit per 8 seconds
"Moderately Pure" items* (Pure Souls, Blade of Purity) - 3 units per 8 seconds
"Extremely Pure" items* (Heart of Purity) - 8 units per 8 seconds
Golden Carrot** - 6 units
Golden Apple** - 18 units
Enchanted Golden Apple** - max units
*Pure Items must be held in main- or off-hand
**Gold foods provide only temporary purity when eaten
🔴Draining
Starts applying mining fatigue at 9 Purity units remaining, and applies worse effects if lower
At worst (1 unit or empty), applies mining fatigue, slowness, weakness II, nausea, and wither II
🟢Holy Fire 🔵Ability - Primary 🔴Armor Condition
Cost: 2 units of Purity
2 second cooldown
6 damage (or 12 damage to sculk mobs) + 8 seconds of burning (max range 40 blocks)
2 block radius of purification
🟢Cleansing Flames 🔵Ability - Secondary 🔴Armor Condition
Cost: 6 units of Purity
6 second cooldown
15 damage + 7 seconds of burning (6 block radius)
7 block radius of purification
🟡Trail of Purity 🟡 Armor Condition
Purifies an infected block below you (if possible)
If any block below you is infected, has a 40% chance of costing 1 unit of Purity
0.2 second cooldown
(Also converts dirt to grass, and will purify normal sculk in a 3x3x3 area)
🟢Pure
Note - this is not immunity. It will quickly cure diseases, though.

13% chance of 6 seconds of burning
🟢Comfort
Warning: the Horde Consumes - especially pets
🟢Gift of Purity
Gives the target the Pure Ones's "Pure" power and the Infester's "Immune" power
🔴Drawn
Begins taking effect when 1000 blocks from (0,0) and most potent when 4000 blocks from (0,0) or in another dimention
Lore reason: Purity exists only to destroy the Sculk Horde. If you chose to run away, you are defying its sole purpose, so it escapes you like a golden vapor, leaving you as a husk.

Pure One (Dormant)
Stage of the Pure One when the Horde is not active
"You are a guardian of Purity, but there is no great threat upon this world. Purity has no single focus, and your powers are faint. However, you must be prepared for when the time comes that this world needs a guardian. The Sculk Horde is always near."
Removes Powers:
Angel
Evolution of the Pure One after completing the "Sanctifier" challenge and reaching "Mature" stage
Adds:
🟢Vision of Purity
All Sculk Entities will glow (visible through walls)
🟢Warmth
Immunity to fire and magma block damage (not lava)
Infester
The Infester is a servant of the Sculk Horde. It is weak before the Horde awakens, and its sculk-infused flesh is frail. The Infester is strengthened and quickened when near the infested lands of the Horde, but in order to survive, it must go outside the Horde's influence to gather food, craft, and mine. Where it travels, the Horde is quick to follow.
Tip: Just like with other creatures created by the Horde, Wardens are still hostile, and might be the main threat in the early-game.

Maximum of 21 units of Mass (not to be confused with the Sculk Horde's mass)
Drains 1 unit every 45 seconds
Replenishes 1 unit every 15 seconds if surrounded by sculk
Replenishes 1 unit upon killing any non-sculk mob (plus 1 health and 1 hunger)

🟢Reinforcements 🔵Ability - Secondary
Cost: 15 units (or 5/7 of the Mass Meter)
50 second cooldown
(Summons at least a sculk creeper and mite, plus anything the Horde wishes)
🟢Sculk Mining
5x break speed
🟢Sculk Sense
All entities will glow (through walls) when within 6 blocks of a sculk sensor
🟢Corrosive
10% chance of 7.5 seconds of corrosion
(Corrosion is an effect similar to poison)
(Always applies the Lure effect)
🟢Sculk Boost
Increases speed and step height by 1.6x using Pehkui
(Sneaking decreases step height to only 1.4x)
🟢Immunity
Immune to Darkness, Lure, Burrowed, and Diseased Cysts
🔴Fungal Weakness
80% of normal health, or 16 out of 20 hitpoints
🔴Soul Tax
(Also prevents exploiting sculk's xp drop)
🔴Searing Purity
Applies 6 seconds of burning and wither III if given the Purity effect (removing the effect)
(Applies 3 seconds of poison II, weakness II, and slowness II if within 11 blocks of an Infestation Purifier)
🟢Linked
Requires "Assimilator" advancement and gravemind "Mature" stage
Herald
Evolution of the Infester after completing the "Assimilator" challenge and reaching "Mature" stage
"You are a masterpiece of the Sculk Horde. When the Horde reached its full strength, it gave you a Mind, Heart, and Soul, turning you into one of the strongest beings this world has ever seen. Go forth unto all nations, and proclaim unto all: The Horde approaches."
Adds:
🟢Sonic Blast 🔵Ability - Primary
Cost: 1 unit of Mass
20 second cooldown
20 damage (max range 40 blocks)
🟢Resummoning
Places you into a form of spectator mode, allowing you to fly to a Sculk Summoner.
(A particle effect will point to a nearby Sculk Summoner.)
🟡Final Sacrifice
Suprise! This ability prevents the Horde from being permanently defeated, or at least gives the Herald one last chance to revive it.
Effect (Spoiler):
Upon the Horde's defeat, the Herald will lose more max health (sets base health to 10 points, or 5 hearts) and will have a Dormant Heart and Chunk o' Brain placed into its hands (enough to convert the dormant heart to a Heart of the Horde in order to revive the Horde).
It is implied that these were the Herald's heart and brain.
