What's new

Screw it, Too Many Keybinds (v1.1.8)

Three things you asked for, and a fix for keybinds that use Ctrl, Shift or Alt.

NEW: Select now, fire later (asked for by sdirnberger115)
- Right-click a slot on the open wheel to ARM it instead of firing it. The wheel closes and nothing happens yet.
- Press the new "Fire Armed Slot" key whenever you are ready, as many times as you like. Hold C, pick your spell, let go, then press F when you have lined up the shot.
- The armed keybind is held down for exactly as long as you hold Fire Armed Slot, so charge, aim and hold-to-use actions work the way they do on their own key.
- Prefer arming to be the normal behaviour? In edit mode, flip "On release: Fire" to "On release: Arm". Letting go of the wheel then arms, and right-click fires straight away instead.
- The armed slot gets a gold rim on the wheel, and its name shows at the bottom of the wheel and above your hotbar when you arm it.
- Fire Armed Slot ships unbound so it cannot clash with anything. Set it in Controls under "Screw it, Too Many Keybinds".

NEW: Named wheel profiles (asked for by shugiW)
- A profile is a whole wheel of its own, with its own pages and slots. The same flick can cast a spell under "Combat" and place a waypoint under "Exploring".
- In edit mode, a new panel on the left lets you name the current profile, step between profiles with the arrows, add one with "+ Profile", or delete one (it asks "Sure?" first).
- The new "Next Wheel Profile" key cycles profiles without opening the wheel and tells you which one you landed on. It ships unbound.
- Your existing wheel becomes a profile called "Default" with every page and slot intact.

NEW: A much better keybind search (asked for by shugiW)
- The search box now looks at the keybind's name, the mod or category it belongs to, the key it sits on, and its internal id. Type "create" to see every Create keybind, "ctrl" to see everything on a Ctrl combo, or "g" to find what lives on G.
- Several words narrow it down ("map toggle"), loose spelling still finds things ("jmmap" finds JourneyMap's minimap), and "@name" matches the mod or category only.
- Best matches are listed first, and each row now shows which mod the keybind comes from.
- The new "Sort: Mod" button groups the whole list under a heading per mod. Click it again for plain A to Z.

FIXED: Keybinds that use Ctrl, Shift or Alt did nothing from the wheel
- A keybind set to something like Ctrl + X only answers while Ctrl is physically held, so firing it from the wheel silently did nothing. It now fires like any other keybind.

IMPROVED: PneumaticCraft armor and other mods that keep their own key tables (reported by user_ixzb527iqqje7pei)
- Some mods watch for "the key this action is on" instead of asking the game whether the keybind was pressed. PneumaticCraft's armor upgrade toggles work this way. When a keybind on your wheel has a key that nothing else shares, the wheel now presses that real key (with its Ctrl, Shift or Alt), so those mods recognise it.
- PneumaticCraft's Kick and Item Launcher (Ctrl + X and Ctrl + C by default) are covered by the Ctrl/Shift/Alt fix above.
- One thing the wheel still cannot reach: a PneumaticCraft armor toggle with no key at all. PneumaticCraft only listens for the key you give the toggle in its armor screen, so give it any spare key or combo (a Ctrl + numpad key works well) and the wheel can fire it from then on.
- If a keybind shares its key with something else, the wheel still fires only the one you picked, exactly as in 1.1.7.

FIXED (1.21.7 and 1.21.8): Text on the wheel and in the slot editor could be invisible
- Those versions of Minecraft skip any text drawn without a full colour value, which hid the hub readout, the keybind names in the editor and the server disable list. All of it draws properly now.

FIXED (1.21.7 and 1.21.8): Editing a slot crashed the game
- Clicking a slot in edit mode, choosing an icon, or opening the server disable list crashed the game with "Can only blur once per frame". All three open normally now.
- The wheel no longer blurs the world behind it or hides your hotbar, so it looks the same as on every other version.

Reminder: per-page hotkeys (asked for by Phiro)
- This arrived in 1.1.7 without a mention. Controls has "Open Wheel: Page 1" through "Open Wheel: Page 8". Bind one and that key opens the wheel straight onto that page, and releasing it fires the slot you are aiming at. They ship unbound.

Your config carries over. Older versions of the mod can still read the new file and will see your current profile.
