About

Based on the SCP universe, SCP-689 is a single anomalous statue that appears exactly once in your world.

It does not move while being observed.

It does not need to.

SCP-689

SCP-689 tracks every Survival-mode player and villager that sees it.

The instant line of sight is broken, SCP-689 teleports directly to the target and kills them instantly.

Behavior

Look Away = Death

Once SCP-689 has seen you:

• Looking away kills you instantly
• SCP-689 teleports to your death location
• The statue rotates toward the direction you faced during death

Multiple Viewers

If multiple entities are observing SCP-689:

• The first entity to look away dies first
• Remaining viewers inherit tracking afterward
• Kill order updates dynamically

Villagers

Villagers receive no warning.

The instant a villager sees SCP-689, they are killed immediately.

Blindness

Blindness completely hides SCP-689 from affected entities.

• Blind players cannot see SCP-689
• SCP-689 cannot detect blind players
• Blind players may safely mine and transport the statue

WARNING:
If SCP-689 has already marked you before Blindness is applied, you still die.

Containment

Gold Block - Anchor

Placing SCP-689 directly on top of a Gold Block disables its passive relocation behavior.

• Prevents random stalking movement
• Does NOT disable look-away kills
• Successful anchoring creates villager-trade particles

Water - Barrier

Water is the only material capable of stopping SCP-689.

Every teleport attempt checks for a continuous non-water path between SCP-689 and its target.

If water blocks the route:

• Teleportation fails
• Look-away kills fail
• Villager attacks fail
• Passive stalking fails

Walls do not work.

Bedrock does not work.

Obsidian does not work.

Only water works.

Mining

Requires an Iron Pickaxe or stronger.

Valid Tools

• Iron Pickaxe
• Diamond Pickaxe
• Netherite Pickaxe

Mining SCP-689 correctly drops the statue as an item.

While inside inventories, SCP-689 is completely harmless.

The anomaly only activates once placed into the world.

World Generation

• Generates once per world
• Spawns roughly 10 in-game minutes after world creation
• Appears between 500 and 2500 blocks from world spawn
• Persists across saves and server restarts

There is no crafting recipe.

You must find it yourself.

Survival Guide

Safe Recovery Method

1. Obtain a Potion of Blindness

2. Apply Blindness BEFORE approaching SCP-689

3. Mine the statue using an Iron Pickaxe or better

4. Store it safely in inventory

Fully multiplayer compatible.

Each player maintains independent:

• Sight tracking
• Kill state
• Viewer priority
• Target queue data
