What's new

Schemes & Assassins 1.2.0

The poison actually kills now.

POISON, REWORKED

  • It waits. Nothing happens for three minutes after someone is poisoned: no damage, no effect icon, no message. They have no reason to suspect anything, and you have time to leave.
  • Then it never wears off. Once it takes hold it bites a heart every two seconds until the victim dies or drinks an Antidote. The old poison ran out after ten doses.
  • Nothing else stops it. It ignores armour, Protection enchantments and the Resistance effect, and while it bites the victim cannot heal at all (no regeneration, healing potions or golden apples). Before this, Protection armour and natural regeneration meant the poison almost never finished anyone.
  • Logging out doesn't escape it. The poison is now stored on the victim, so it survives a relog and a server restart.
  • Poisoning someone who is already poisoned does not reset their clock.

NEW

  • The Antidote, the only cure. Drink it and the poison is gone, whether it has taken hold yet or not. Crafted from a Water Bottle, a Milk Bucket and a Glistering Melon Slice. Drinking one when you aren't poisoned wastes it. It also clears vanilla Poison.

CONFIG

  • New: poisonOnsetSeconds (180), poisonBlocksHealing (true).
  • Changed defaults: poisonIntervalTicks 20 -> 40, poisonDamagePerDose 3.0 -> 2.0.
  • Removed: poisonDelayTicks and poisonDoses (replaced by the onset and the never-ending bite). Delete them from an old sos-common.toml or leave them; they are ignored.

UPGRADING

  • Drop the jar in on the server and on clients, as before. Anyone poisoned under 1.1.0 at the moment you update is not carried over.
