Description
When a Sanguine Moon rises:
- 🌑 The night becomes significantly more dangerous, with additional hostile mobs spawning around players.
- 🩸 The moon turns red and the world can be covered in intense red fog.
- 🛏️ Sleeping is blocked, preventing players from simply skipping the event.
- 👹 Extra monsters spawn in waves, with configurable spawn distances, mob limits, and spawn attempts.
- ⚔️ Spawned mobs can receive random armor, weapons, and tools.
- 💀 Boss-like mobs and specific entities such as the Wither, Ender Dragon, Warden, and Elder Guardian can be excluded.
- 🔥 At dawn, Sanguine Moon mobs can despawn, remain, or burn depending on configuration.
- 💥 Hostile mob damage can be multiplied, allowing much harder nights.
- 📅 Events can occur randomly or on a fixed day interval.
- 🌎 You can choose which dimensions are affected.
- 🔊 The event announces its beginning/end and can play a dramatic warning sound.
- ⚙️ Almost everything is configurable through the mod's TOML configuration.
Default experience
By default, there's a 5% chance each night of a Sanguine Moon. During the event, players cannot sleep, extra hostile mobs spawn every 2 seconds, and up to 70 nearby hostiles are allowed around each player. The event uses the Overworld, red moon/fog effects, and spawned Sanguine Moon mobs disappear at dawn.
In short: Sanguine Moon is essentially a high-intensity configurable Blood Moon system designed to make certain Minecraft nights feel like dangerous survival events rather than ordinary nights.
