Samps Audio Zones

finally a way to loop some music for everyone! :D

Samp's Audio Zones

A server-side Fabric mod that lets you set up custom music and ambient audio zones in your world.

Audio streams directly through Simple Voice Chat. Players don't need anything else to hear it just voice chat.

Requirements

  • Fabric API
  • Simple Voice Chat (Installed on both the server and client)
  • A Sound Physics Mod (not needed but I really recommend it to make the audio more immersive and sound better overall.) You can use something like Sound Physics Remastered but I personally prefer using Sound Physics Perfected

Everything else is bundled already.

Audio Sources

You have two ways to get music into your zones:

  1. Direct Upload: Put .mp3 files into config/ambientzones/audio/. Subfolders are supported too!
  2. AudioPlayer Integration: If you already use the AudioPlayer mod on your server, it will automatically detect and pull all your existing AudioPlayer tracks. You can use them immediately without re-uploading.

Quick Start

1. Open the menu

Type: /az

2. Audio Zones

  • Set up your zone and select your tracks to play, you have the ability to just select one to continually loop or multiple to queue up and repeat using the ui.
  • Click Create Zone to save your selection.
  • In the ui you'll also find settings to adjust volume, distance, fade transitions, etc.

Features

  • AudioPlayer Compatibility: Automatically indexes and plays tracks from the AudioPlayer mod alongside your local folder.
  • Zone Linking: Connect multiple zones together (like different rooms in a building since the sound can have optional physics and can't really reach far enough around corners). Linked zones share their playback state so music doesn't restart when crossing between them.
  • Multi Threaded: The specific tracks and links you set won't lag and mess things up, and have been tested with heavy mod packs with little to no performance impact!

Commands

Because almost everything is done through the menu, you only need a couple of commands:

  • /az - Opens the menu
  • /az wand - Gives you the area selection wand to avoid having a circle radius
  • /az visualize [on|off] - Toggles the particle borders on/off
  • /az reload - Refreshes the audio folder if you added new files while the server is running

FAQ

Do players need this mod installed on their client?
No. Only the server needs Samp's Audio Zones. Players only need Simple Voice Chat.

Why can't a player hear anything?

  1. Make sure their Simple Voice Chat is connected and working.
  2. Check that their Voice Chat volume slider in the settings isn't turned all the way down or muted since it has its own slider.

Recommended audio format:
Standard .mp3 files at 128 kbps to 192 kbps (44.1 kHz or 48 kHz) sound the best and shouldn't have any static.
