Sable Block Notification Fix

A server-side fix for Sable's missing-plot-holder crash during block-change notifications, including Create plough and Deployer item-use paths.

The problem

A moving Create actor can reach a notification for a Sable storage chunk that no longer has a plot holder. Sable throws Cannot change blocks in nonexistent plot holder, which can stop the server.

Why it happens

Sable 2.0.3 treats a missing holder inside its reserved storage area as an exception. Ordinary Minecraft block-change notifications already do nothing when the corresponding chunk holder is absent.

Scope of the fix

The addon skips only a block-change notification whose position is inside Sable's reserved storage area and has no plot holder. It logs the first skipped notification and then a bounded summary if further notifications occur. Ordinary terrain and existing Sable holders use their original methods; other errors still propagate.

This is a notification guard, not a repair of ship data or a change to item-use coordinates. It does not create chunks, set blocks, change ship poses, or alter recipes and production times. If missing-holder messages continue, investigate the actor/plot lifecycle as well.

Compatibility

• Minecraft 1.21.1; NeoForge 21.1.235; Java 21.
• Sable 2.0.3, installed separately.
• Install on the dedicated server only. Clients do not need this addon.

The required hook is pinned to this implementation. Other Sable versions are not claimed compatible. Create 6.0.10 supplied the reported actor paths; the guard itself does not require Create.

The plot-holder part of Sable 2.0.3 Stability Fixes addresses the same notification problem within a broader bundle. This addon is a separately implemented, focused guard. Installing both guards is unnecessary; their combined operation has not been validated.

From Steam & Steel

The addon originated in Steam & Steel SMP, our custom Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge server modpack. It is available independently of the full modpack and does not require SteamSteelCore.

Beta / Feedback

This beta was checked against the exact native Sable implementation: the original exception was reproduced, the patched notification paths executed, and actual Mixin application and client exclusion verified. These checks use controlled world/holder seams and do not prove every moving-contraption gameplay scenario.

Please report your Minecraft, NeoForge, Sable, Create and addon versions, the crash report and steps to reproduce. Continued missing-holder warnings are useful evidence too.
