Runesight
See every enchantment before you pay, even on vanilla servers.
Vanilla's enchanting table shows a single clue per offer. Runesight reads the table and shows everything each offer will give, before you spend your levels and lapis. It works with only your client on servers that don't have the mod, and it's exact wherever the server does have it.
Features
- Every enchantment, not just a clue. Hover any of the three offers to see the full list, with the usual lapis and level costs.
- Works on vanilla servers. Runesight reads the table from what the server shows. Until it's certain, the tooltip splits the result into what you will receive and what you may receive, with a chance. Put another item in the table and it becomes certain.
- Preview any item without putting it in. Hold V over an item in your inventory to see what the table would offer it. Find the best item to enchant before you commit.
- Bookshelf planner. Click Plan beside the table, pick a goal (say Fortune III) and see which bookshelf count and offer give it. Block shelves with a torch or carpet to get there; it stays valid until you enchant.
- Always know how sure it is. A status line in the table says whether what you see is Exact, Revealed or only Partly revealed; hover it for an explanation.
- Remembers what it read. Rejoin a server and the table is already revealed, until you enchant something.
- Exact in singleplayer, on LAN, and on servers that also run Runesight.
- Supports datapack and modded enchantments. Fabric and NeoForge.
- In English, Português (Brasil), Español, Deutsch and Français.
- Works with Easy Magic. With Runesight on the server, Easy Magic's table shows Runesight's exact lists, rerolls included (the inventory preview and the planner are off there, as Easy Magic rolls offers its own way). Without it on the server, Runesight leaves Easy Magic's table alone.
How to use
- Install the mod for your loader (on Fabric, also Fabric API).
- Open an enchanting table and put in an item and lapis.
- Hover an offer: the tooltip lists every enchantment it will give.
- Hold V over other items in your inventory to compare what they would get.
- Want something specific? Click Plan, pick it, and change your bookshelf count to what it says.
- Not happy with any offer? Enchant something cheap (or a book) to roll new offers, and check again.
The preview key can be changed in Options → Controls → Key Binds → Runesight.

Runesight adds no blocks, items or world data, so adding or removing it never affects a world.
For server owners: install Runesight on the server to give players exact results, or turn its previews off for everyone with /runesight previews off (operators; saved in config/runesight/server.properties). Players with Runesight then get vanilla enchanting on your server. A server without the mod cannot detect or turn off the mod.
Fair play: on servers without the mod, Runesight shows information the server does not show. Some servers forbid enchantment-preview mods; check the rules before using it there.
