A major Lore Codex update focused on easier browsing, better datapack support, and more ways to discover books.
Added
- Improved Lore Codex browser with search, categories, filters, sorting, keyboard controls, and remembered browsing state.
- Unread and favorite books. New books can be marked as unread, while any entry can be favorited for easier access.
- Spare copy tracking for duplicate books stored in the Codex.
- Better book tooltips showing details, category, and series information.
- Added an optional Open Lore Codex keybind.
- Books now support clickable and hoverable text, including links, page changes, copied text, and optional commands.
- Added support for longer book titles with automatic scaling and truncation.
- Added
/rpglore validatefor checking lore definitions and/rpglore reloadnow provides a clearer reload summary. - Datapacks can now add lore books directly.
- Books can now be discovered through mob drops, loot tables, and advancements at the same time.
- Added tags, discovery hints, and series information for organizing and finding books.
- Added an API and collection event for other mods to integrate with RPG Lore.
Improved
- Opening a book now automatically marks it as read.
- Existing saves automatically upgrade to the new format, with previously collected books marked as read.
- The Codex interface has been redesigned with ribbon-style category, filter, and sorting controls.
- Codex pages now fit 8 books instead of 7.
- Search, duplicate handling, book-opening controls, and Curios slot visuals have been polished to better match the Codex design.
- Book titles now have more room and use
...instead of being cut off. - Book loading and acquisition checks have been optimized for larger lore packs.
- Reloading is safer: if book files cannot be read, the previous catalog remains active.
- Added new options for controlling acquisition methods, discovery hints, unread markers, remembered searches, and interactive book commands.
Fixed
- Starter Codexes are no longer lost when granted with a full inventory.
Compatibility
- Network protocol increased to 3. Clients and servers must both update to 2.2.0.
- Existing 2.1.x saves are migrated automatically.
