What's new

0.7.2

New in this version:

- Salt. Build a salt pan (bricks) on a beach or in the ocean and fill it with seawater from a bucket or bottles. In the open sun a third of it evaporates in about 20 minutes at 20 °C, faster in the heat, not at all in rain or frost; rain fills the pan. Over a fire, a lit campfire, lava or magma it boils down in a few minutes. Every third of seawater leaves a portion of salt; fresh water leaves none. Salt from other mods works too.
- Salting. One salt and up to four pieces of the same raw meat or fish at a crafting table make salted meat or fish ("Salted Raw Beef"), which keeps for months instead of days. Salt does not undo spoilage: the food stays as old as it was.
- Drying. Hang food on a drying rack (sticks). In dry open air meat dries in 10-20 minutes, fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and bread in a few, fish in a week or two of cold wind. In rain or damp air nothing dries and the food only spoils; as it dries it spoils more slowly. Dried meat keeps 1-2 months, dried fish for years, dried fruit and vegetables a year.
- Smoking. A lit campfire up to 5 blocks below a drying rack smokes what hangs on it (in about a day) and dries it even in damp weather. Smoked meat and fish keep about a week; salted and then smoked or dried, longer than either.
- The tooltip shows how far drying and smoking have gone; the name says what was done ("Smoked Salted Salmon").
- Farmer's Delight meat, fish, bacon, tomatoes and pumpkin slices can be salted, dried and smoked as well.
