Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
0.3.0
New in this version:
- Furniture weathers and rots: chests, trapped chests, barrels, lecterns, crafting tables and ladders go grey in the sun and rot in the damp, like the wood they are made of.
- A grey or rotting chest still holds everything that was in it; both halves of a double chest change together.
- A grey or rotting lectern or barrel is still a villager's job site.
- A rotten ladder rung breaks under anything heavier than a cat climbing it.
- Sneak to use an axe or honeycomb on furniture; without sneaking it opens as usual.
- Signs rot too. Left in the damp, a sign falls apart once it is rotten through.
- Rot spreads by contact. Wood touching rotting wood rots faster: the fungus is already there.
- Dry rot. Timber inside a building that stays wet (but not soaked) gets dry rot. It carries its own water: its strands cross masonry and plaster to timber up to 4 blocks away, about a metre a year, and rot wood that is merely damp. It dies if the building stays dry for about a year. Tarred and charred wood keep it out.
- Fungus fruits on rotting wood. In damp shade a rotting log grows bracket fungi on its sides, and rotting boards in the dark grow brown mushrooms, about once a year.
- Lichen. Old grey wood and stone out in the light slowly grow a grey-green crust with orange flecks: 10-30 years to cover a face. Shears take it.
- Beeswax shows. Waxed wood has a faint satin sheen.
- Snow is load. Snow on a roof counts as weight: a beam under a heavy load of snow spans less, and wet snow near melting weighs nearly twice as much as dry.
