Roleplay Utilities

NBT Utilities for adding effects to items, and more!

Starting off as a mod to add potion effects to items, both on use and on hit, Roleplay Utilities aims to primarily add increased functionality to items via NBT tags for roleplay effects. This includes the aforementioned, plus a bunch more! Mainly for SMP server ops looking to add spice to items for their server, there are some player-centric features, as listed below:

Version 1.3.0.1:

- Allows players to transfer NBT tags between brewed potions, preserving a custom potion's NBT tags between normal, splash and lingering potions, but also transferring NoCoating and display tags from potions obtained via brewing.

Version 1.2.0.1:

- NBT handling code for adding potion effects both on using an item, and on striking with a tagged item (not just tools)

- includes tooltip support for all of the above, as well as the option to disable the ability for the magic effect to show via a separate NBT tag

- an NBT tag for prompting the player with a message when said tag's item is used, either immediately on use or at the end of use if the item has a use time. NBT has formatting subtags, so full formatting of messages is enabled.

- an NBT tag for spawning a redstone line at a specific location in-world; use this to control command block activation remotely!

- includes tool coating: gives players the ability to coat their tools (both swords and other usable equipment) in lingering potions, similarly to tipped arrows.

    * combine lingering potion to a tool in a crafting menu, and get 4 swings of application out of the item (at reduced duration)

    * cannot be overridden by another lingering potion, but can be cleared from the tool before use with a water bottle

    * cannot combine more than one potion at a time; find potions with multiple effects to add multiple effects to coat a tool with!

- included an in-game NBT tag reference GUI:

    * a menu GUI now opens when the reference hotkey is pressed (setup in controls), and each of the tags can be explored in detail by pressing the appropriate tag's button from the main menu.

    * each tag has a verbose description of the tag's use and it's sub-tag arguments; including information about which sub-tags are necessary and optional.

    * the button on each tag page can be clicked to copy a template of the tag to the clipboard, which can then be pasted either in the chat window or into a command block.
