Roadster Studio License

This license applies to Roadster Studio, including its original program code, source code, vehicle models, textures, sounds, and other original assets (collectively, "the Mod").

Third-party libraries and components are governed by their respective licenses.

1. Permitted Uses

Personal Use

• You may download, install, and use the Mod free of charge.

• You may use the Mod in singleplayer and multiplayer.

• You may modify the Mod for your own private use.

Videos and Content Creation

• You may use the Mod in videos, livestreams, screenshots, and other content.

• Monetization of such content is permitted.

• Credit is appreciated but not required for videos and livestreams.

Modpacks and Servers

• You may include the original, unmodified Mod in modpacks.

• You may use the Mod on multiplayer servers.

• Distribution through modpacks is permitted, provided applicable platform rules are followed and original copyright notices are preserved.

Add-ons and Independent Works

• You may create and distribute original add-ons, extensions, integrations, or other independent works that use or depend on the Mod.

• Credit to "Roadster Studio by MakoEnergyGamer" is required when distributing such works.

• These works must not redistribute original Roadster Studio code or assets unless separately permitted under this license.

2. Substantially Improved Versions

You may create and redistribute modified versions of Roadster Studio that introduce substantial new features or significant functional improvements.

To qualify, a modified version must provide meaningful additional functionality beyond the original Mod.

Examples of potentially qualifying improvements include major gameplay systems, substantial vehicle functionality expansions, or significant physics-engine enhancements.

Minor cosmetic changes, simple renaming, configuration adjustments, basic repackaging, and routine bug fixes alone do not qualify. Version ports are evaluated according to the extent of their actual functional changes.

Redistribution of qualifying versions is permitted under these conditions:

• Clearly credit "Roadster Studio by MakoEnergyGamer" as the original project.

• Provide a visible description of the changes and improvements.

• Preserve the original copyright and license notices.

• Respect all applicable third-party licenses.

• Do not claim that the modified version is an official release by the original creator.

Free redistribution is permitted under these conditions. Selling modified versions containing original Roadster Studio code or assets requires separate written permission from the original creator.

3. Preferred Distribution Method

Whenever reasonably possible, improvements should be distributed as separate add-ons, extensions, or patches rather than complete copies of the original Mod.

The preferred approach is for users to download the original Roadster Studio from its official project page and install improvements separately.

Please avoid including original source code, models, textures, sounds, or other files unless necessary.

This is a preferred distribution method, not an additional mandatory restriction on substantially improved versions otherwise permitted under Section 2.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Redistribute the original, unmodified Mod as a standalone download outside the permitted modpack distribution.

• Redistribute versions containing only minor or superficial modifications.

• Repackage or rename the original Mod and present it as a new project.

• Claim ownership or original authorship of Roadster Studio or its original assets.

• Remove, conceal, or misrepresent required copyright notices or creator credit.

• Sell the original Mod or repackaged copies as standalone products.

• Sell modified versions containing original Roadster Studio code or assets without separate written permission.

• Redistribute original code or assets in independent add-ons without authorization.

• Present any modified version as officially developed, approved, or endorsed by MakoEnergyGamer.

• Redistribute the Mod or its files in any other manner not expressly permitted by this license without authorization.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by the original creator.

5. Required Attribution

Any permitted distributed add-on or substantially improved version must include the following credit in a clearly visible location:

Original Mod: Roadster Studio

Original Creator: MakoEnergyGamer

Substantially improved versions must also include a clear summary of their modifications.

6. Third-Party Components

Third-party libraries, dependencies, and separately licensed components included with Roadster Studio remain subject to their respective licenses.

Nothing in this license grants rights beyond those allowed by the applicable third-party licenses.

Redistributors are responsible for preserving all required third-party notices and complying with those licenses.

7. Disclaimer and Warranty

Roadster Studio is an independent, unofficial project.

It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially associated with Tesla, Mojang, or Microsoft.

All respective trademarks and brand names remain the property of their owners.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE AUTHOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

8. Applicable Rules

All uses and redistribution must comply with applicable laws, platform policies, and the Minecraft End User License Agreement.

This license does not override any rights or restrictions imposed by third-party copyright holders or applicable platform agreements.
