What's new

WARNING: Road Stuff 2 is in heavy alpha state! This first release is to try the new road block system with the paint brush. Do not use on your main saves as the mod core can be changed in the future, breaking saves. Only use it in worlds you don't mind losing or test worlds. Always backup your saves on a regular basis!

1.14.3-2.0.0.0 — The 2.0 Update!

Road Stuff 2.0 is happening! This first alpha release allows you to try out the new paint brush system to create roads. Remember to report any bug or problem on Github!

Changelog:

  • Added road blocks (concrete and asphalt variants)
  • Added road line patterns (up to 142 variants!)
  • Added paint brush and paint buckets to paint lines on roads
  • Added bitumen ore generation and config to tweak values like you want

Quick tips:

  • Bitumen ore is found in the overworld, around sea level. They come in big pockets, slightly larger than coal ores. Fortune enchant applies a bonus.
  • Asphalt blocks are created with sand, gravel and raw bitumen. Concrete blocks are crafted with only sand and gravel. You can only craft those two blocks, not the painted variants!
  • Paintbrush is crafted with a stick and a wool block of any color. Paint bucket is crafted with 5 iron ingots and can be transported with the paint in it.
  • Fill the buckets with yellow or white dyes (remember bone meal is not a white dye anymore) and get paint on your paintbrush by right clicking filled buckets.
  • Paint buckets can be in water (waterlogged) but you can't use them if they're under water. In the future they may lose their paint so be aware of this!
  • You can shift + right click with the paintbrush to select a line pattern. You also can shift + right click on a painted road block to get the line pattern, like a copy / paste. A regular right click on a compatible block will paint a line.
  • To erase lines, you can select the eraser icon in the paintbrush interface (the one in the top left corner).
  • Destroying painted road blocks gives the default asphalt or concrete block! You can use Silk Touch pickaxes to gather painted blocks.

A wiki will be set up in the future with all the needed information. For now you can refer to the tips above. Thanks for trying this release. Have fun!
