What's new

New Systems

Spirituality

  • Personal 0–100 devotion score per player per religion, separate from religion Piety
  • 5 ranks: Initiate → Lukewarm → Faithful → Devout → Saintly
  • Gained from Confession, Sacrifice, entity sacrifice, reading the Holy Book, Holy War kills, and time spent near a dedicated altar
  • Decays if you go too long without confessing
  • Boosts your Piety gains (bonus at 50+, penalty below); high Spirituality gives visible golden particle effects

Theology & Deities

  • Prophet sets a religion's stance: Non-Theistic, Monotheistic (1 deity), or Polytheistic (multiple deities)
  • Custom deities: name, symbol, color, traits (Abundance, War, Wisdom, Protection, Fortune, Healing)
  • Deities have Favor (0–100) that rises when worshipped and decays if neglected
  • Devoted members get passive buffs near a dedicated altar, and stronger temporary buffs from active worship
  • Removing a deity is costly and triggers "Wrath of the Gods" (debuffs + lightning on all members)

Holy Books

  • Consecrate a Written Book as your religion's official scripture
  • Keeping it in your hotbar gives passive bonuses (bonus XP, slower hunger, chance to save a tool from breaking)
  • Reading it once a day grants Spirituality

Entity Sacrifice

  • Killing blow with a consecrated, enchanted sword/axe on a nearby entity grants a big Piety swing
  • Heavy penalty for sacrificing your own religion's members

Altar Improvements

  • Per-altar dedication — each physical altar can be individually claimed and dedicated to a deity, not just one altar per religion
  • Glow — altars now emit real light
  • Religion-color tint — a claimed altar visually tints to its religion's chosen color; unclaimed altars stay original marble
  • Colored ambient particles — claimed altars periodically emit small colored sparkles matching the religion's color (since real block light can't carry color)

Admin Tools Added

  • /rexligion spirituality add|set <player> <amount>
  • /rexligion deity list <religion>
  • /rexligion deity favor add|set <religion> <deityId> <amount>
  • Config GUI now covers every setting (was missing ~40 of them before), properly paginated

Quality-of-Life / Bug Fixes

  • Deity's preferred sacrifice item now picked from a dropdown-style picker (restricted to configurable "valuable items" list) instead of typed text, and no two deities in a religion can share one
  • Traits picked via toggle buttons instead of typed text
  • Deity removal now properly clears dedication on every altar it was tied to
  • Fixed GUI text/backgrounds rendering incorrectly (world elements bleeding through on some screens)
