What's new

Main update: the lava level slider works, and every setting of the preset screen now does something. Existing worlds do not change.

ReTerraForged 0.0.20 for Minecraft 26.2 (NeoForge and Fabric). Requires Java 25. A fork of ReTerraForged (racoonman2 / TerraForged), LGPL-3.0-only.

What's new in 0.0.20:

  • The lava level slider works (#13). It never did in this fork: the lava stayed at vanilla's y -54 whatever the slider. Now, for example, -100 with a world depth of 128 puts the lava sea at y -100.
  • Every setting of the preset screen now does something. The settings that did nothing (some since TerraForged) shape the world as their names say:
    • Branch Rivers: a new switch "Branch Size From Main River". Off, the branch rivers have the bed and bank sizes of their own sliders (on: the size of the main river where they meet it, as before).
    • Lakes Min/Max Start Distance: where along its river a lake is (0 at the source, 1 where it joins another river).
    • Island Coast / Island Inland: the coast and inland points of the archipelago's islands.
    • Plain Stone Erosion: eroded rock slopes of plain stone instead of the rock layer below them.
    • Mountain Biome Usage: the share of the mountains with mountain biomes (peaks, slopes); the rest gets the ordinary biomes of its climate.
    • Volcano Biome Usage: the share of the volcanoes with a volcanic surface (basalt on the cone's rock, magma and blackstone in the crater).

No world changes. Existing worlds, exported datapacks and preset files saved before keep their worlds: these settings get the values that do exactly what the mod did before, and so do the built-in presets. The sliders work when you move them.

Tested: real NeoForge 26.2.0.90 and Fabric 0.19.5 + Fabric API 0.161.0 servers on every version: the Default world with the same terrain as 0.0.19, NeoForge and Fabric generate the same world, a world with all the new settings on (and the lava level moved) without errors; on 1.21.1 a world made by 0.0.19 opened with 0.0.20 keeps its ground, and every setting of the preset screen tested at both ends of its slider and at five points of it; on 1.21.1 and 26.3 a new world made through the screens with mouse clicks in Russian.

Known issues: changing the strata settings of an existing world (by replacing its preset datapack) changes the strata of new chunks, so cliffs may show a seam at the border of the old ones. Worlds made with fork versions before 0.0.11 used the 1.21.1 port's generation; their new chunks now follow 0.0.6 and may show a seam at the border. Extreme sea levels (see the tooltip). With William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld its forests grow its own trees instead of the ReTerraForged ones; on Fabric it needs Fabric Loader 0.18.5 or newer. Report problems at https://github.com/Vladeezyy/reterraforged/issues.

Singleplayer: Create World → World tab → Customize → pick a preset → Done (without this the world will be vanilla). The "experimental settings" warning is normal, press Proceed.

Server: put the jar into mods/, and for a new world the preset datapack reterraforged-preset-26.2.zip (from this release) into world/datapacks/ before the first start.
