# ReplayOverdrive
ReplayOverdrive is a maintained fork of ReplayMod built specifically for Minecraft Forge 1.7.10.
The project focuses on making replay recording, playback, seeking, and camera tools more reliable in large legacy modpacks where the original 1.7.10 implementation can struggle with heavily customized mods and complex entity systems.
ReplayOverdrive is being developed primarily for use with Deadhour and the Overdrive mod ecosystem, but it is intended to remain useful as a general ReplayMod fork for other Forge 1.7.10 installations.
## Features
- Record Minecraft gameplay and play it back later.
- Move freely through recorded scenes with the replay camera.
- Seek backward and forward through the replay timeline.
- Improve replay stability when rewinding or jumping to earlier points in a recording.
- Improve entity reconstruction when replay state is reset.
- Improve compatibility with heavily modded Forge 1.7.10 environments.
- Improve compatibility with MC Helicopter and other mods that use complex custom entities.
- Fix legacy crashes, desynchronization, and replay state problems as they are discovered.
- Maintain a usable development environment for testing ReplayMod on Forge 1.7.10.
## Compatibility
ReplayOverdrive targets:
- Minecraft 1.7.10
- Minecraft Forge 1.7.10
- Java 8
- Large legacy modpacks
- MC Helicopter and MC Helicopter Overdrive
- Mods that use custom vehicles, entities, renderers, or unusual networking behavior
Compatibility with every Forge 1.7.10 mod is not guaranteed.
Replay systems interact with entity spawning, world state, packets, dimensions, chunks, and client state in ways that can expose problems which do not occur during normal gameplay.
If a replay works during normal playback but fails after rewinding, seeking, changing dimensions, or loading a specific modded entity, please report the issue with the relevant logs or crash report.
## Project Goals
ReplayOverdrive does not aim to completely redesign ReplayMod.
The goal is to make the ReplayMod experience dependable again on Forge 1.7.10 while fixing problems that appear in modern legacy modpacks.
Development currently prioritizes:
- replay timeline stability
- reliable rewinding and seeking
- entity cleanup and reconstruction
- modded entity compatibility
- vehicle replay support
- crash prevention
- camera reliability
- development and testing support
Some features may behave differently from newer ReplayMod versions because ReplayOverdrive is built around the limitations and behavior of Minecraft 1.7.10.
## Reporting Bugs
When reporting a problem, include as much of the following as possible:
- ReplayOverdrive version
- Forge version
- installed mods related to the issue
- whether the problem occurs during recording or playback
- whether the problem occurs after rewinding or seeking
- the approximate replay timestamp where the problem occurs
- `latest.log`
- the crash report, if one was generated
- clear reproduction steps
Issues involving modded vehicles or entities should also identify the mod and entity involved.
ReplayOverdrive is an ongoing compatibility and maintenance project. Expect continued fixes as more edge cases are discovered in real-world Forge 1.7.10 modpacks.
