Note: Curseforge at least for now is forcing me to say this mod "supports some modloader", when it in fact does not use any of the provided modloaders. Disregard this.

Changes:

  • The sun and moon now fade out during the time of day they are not supposed to appear
  • Stars are now based on real star data.
  • The sky fog and coloration has been revamped to look better.
  • Clouds now sprawl out much farther.
  • The lightmap has been altered to make darker objects much darker.
  • The celestial cubes have been granted amazing new textures, for now.
  • Added 1.8 skin support, including for multiplayer, assuming multiplayer works.
  • Added preliminary XBOX 360 controller support. For now, the controller must be plugged in before the game starts, and the keybinds are unconfigurable.
  • Ladders and vines have had overhauls in their models.
  • Ladders and vines can now cascade like ropes in Terraria.
  • Vines can now be placed on top of each other.
  • Ice and water have been changed in their texture opacity.
  • Added unlit torches. Existing torch items will be converted into unlit torch items. Existing placed torches remain lit.
  • To light torches, flint and steel or fire charges can be used. As a result, flint and steel durability has been changed to 512.
  • Lit torches exposed to rain will quickly be put out.
  • Time speed game rule can now be configured from the world creation screen, and defaults to 72, or 1 real life day.
  • WR Worker slider now maxes out at the usage of all the available CPU threads. Keeping the number of threads at around half of your computer's threads will grant the best rendering performance, however on more beefy machines, this is not as much of an issue.
  • Complete texture overhaul thanks to Crowbar.
  • Removed alpha textures setting as a result of the new alpha-esc textures, however, alpha foliage is still a setting.
  • Cauldrons now fill quicker with water.
  • Cauldrons now act as a storage block for water, wherein bottles of water can be put into the cauldron, and buckets can retrieve water from the cauldron if it is full.
  • Wither skeletons should now spawn within the nether.

Improvements and Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed UV issues.
  • Fixed AO issue with the north face of partial blocks.
  • Fixed insane memory usage of lighting engine.
  • Fixed lighting engine sending too many rendering updates too quickly, which slowed down world rendering to an unbearable rate.
  • Fixed long standing lighting bugs. As a result, ALL worlds loaded in previous patches will be broken. Light packet data was defined in a corrupt manner, however, imported worlds and new worlds will be unaffected.
  • Launcher and game now check for file integrity before copying files into the bin folder.
  • Launcher now checks for and can hypothetically download updates (untested).
  • The celestial angle now stutters less at fast time speeds.
  • Thunder weather type now gets sent properly to clients (vanilla bug since Beta 1.5).
  • Fixed issue with obfuscation reacting incorrectly with crash reports.
  • Fixed issue with achievement window being broken from being initialized too early.
  • Hopefully fixed issues with textures missing due to compilation issues.
