Clouds have been changed to have two layers. Disable clouds all together by enabling fast graphics. To make them sprawl out further, the skybox has been placed farther back.

Torches' light is now more distinctly yellow-orange and flickers more. Looks rather nice in dark areas.

The Render Runs face merging algorithm demonstrated by putting the quads into "Wire Frame" mode. In game, this method should have little to no visual artifacting, but should increase performance.
All dark areas are also equally dark.
Redstone Lamps have been refactored into Glowstone Lamps, and given a new texture and recipe.
Description
Minecraft Renewed is a standalone redevelopment of Minecraft, aiming to modernize the game's engine, and resurrect its broken game design. The mod is not compatible with any other mods, and has no intention to do so for the foreseeable future.
The game design axioms I use to critique games and design Renewed.
Why the game's design is poor, and therefore why Renewed was created.
