Here it is. The mod "Reforged".
It brings weapons from Balkon's Weapon Mod to 1.8+! We will also add some new weapons, which we like to add.
Most of our weapons have special features, like more damage when sneaking or similar.
You can even write your own ideas on this Spreadsheet.
Description
There are 3 main ages of weapons to differentiate:
- Primitive: Weapons for use in the beginning of a new game. They can be used to slaughter zombies for the own protection.
- Medieval: Weapons, which are stronger than primitive weapons. Use them to attack! Note, that medieval weapons have special effects, which you can use or trigger. They are listed on our Wiki!
- Gunpowder: Shoot 'em all down! Those are weapons, which do high damage. Some of them can be even be used pretty good in melee fights!
Installation
- Download Minecraft and install Forge, which can be found here. Make sure to download the right version! 1.8 is 1.8, 1.8.9 is 1.8.9!
- Download our mod. You find the files on the right. Download it for the version you installed Forge!
- Move the .jar-file to %appdata%/.minecraft/mods
- Start Minecraft with Forge activated. When this is done you can modify the config for our mod. It's found at %appdata%/.minecraft/config/reforged.cfg
- Finished! You can use this mod now ^^
Why we do all this?
BalkondeurAlpha discontinued his mod "Balkon's Weapons Mod", which was released in 2011.
Silvercatcher said in September 2015, he would continue this mod, but it won't be a direct port. He wants to code the mod himself!
So he released his first version. Since January 2016, ThexXTURBOXx is collaborator of this mod.
We both decided to not only take the features of the predecessor, we want new features for extra fun.
We wanted this mod to get continued, because we both liked it so much :D
Damn, this mod is like a legend. Just like good old days when I played with Balkon's weapon mod....
Would love to see that on Fabric 1.16 (and, I guess, 1.17 as well). This mod is so great "vanilla extended" weapon mod, without mortar it would be perfect. I try to make similar mod by myself, adding firearms and throwing knives, but Balcon's mod is much better at different aspects, like knowing how to make real gameplay difference without changing vanilla gamestyle. That's so rare.

1.16+ Fabric and Forge versions (completely rewritten) are WIP currently. At some point, they will be released (see progress on my GitHub, currently only the battleaxe is rewritten)

(by the way, if you could make version disabling mortar's survival crafting, then I can die in peace - it's the only feature that imo wasn't fitting at all and was too OP/ruining atmosphere of vanilla gameplay)

It will be a complete rewrite and I will focus on Balkon's weapons' stats more than Reforged's original stats. We will see how things develop :)

Holy crap! That is amazing. I loved this mod. I'm currently using a mod called improved mobs that adds integrations from this mod like for the ability for the mobs to use the guns. I still see that option in the 1.16.5 version. I cannot wait for this to update.

will this mod with enchantment plus or other enchanting mods? quark and vanilla tweaks add some QoL to enchanting i believe, don't know how it affect modded weaponry.
has anybody got any experience?
idk if you can or not but if you can pls update this to 1.16 because it would be cool if there was netherite weapons but you dont have to if you can't
Where's the cannon?
The weapons don't work sometimes which is annoying like the musket (and the other types) along with the nest of bees. It may mostly be due to other mods, but I really don't like being forced to remove this (also 1.16 availability? That would be great)
Does anyone know if theres a version of the mod for 1.12.2 that has the musket actually do a lot of damage. It's completely wimpy.

I think it’d be a good idea to add some compatibility with Base Metals to add the weapon variety of games like Runescape to Minecraft
