Really Fast Load
Gets you into your Minecraft worlds faster.
Inspired by Fastload, which has not been updated for newer Minecraft versions.
What it does
When you open a singleplayer world, Minecraft normally waits for a big square of chunks around spawn to finish generating before letting you in. Really Fast Load skips that wait. You spawn in right away and the chunks load around you while you play.
It also makes the "Downloading terrain" screen disappear faster when you join a server or step through a Nether or End portal, and it reads chunk files in parallel instead of one at a time so the game spends less time waiting on your disk.
Features
- Skips the spawn chunk pregeneration when opening a world
- Skips the "Downloading terrain" wait when joining servers or going through portals
- Reads and writes chunk files in parallel
- Caches recently read chunks in memory so reopening a world is faster
- Skips data fixer work on chunks that are already on your current Minecraft version
Config
A config file is generated at config/reallyfastload.json on first launch. Every feature has its own on or off switch. Delete the file to reset to defaults.
Compatibility
If you have C2ME installed, the parallel chunk reading turns itself off automatically so the two mods do not fight over the same code.
