⚒️ Real Steel
Forge it. Quench it. Sharpen it. Put it to work.
Real Steel expands Minecraft's survival progression with a more hands-on approach to tools and resource gathering. Instead of simply throwing a few ingots onto a crafting table, you'll make your own steel, forge durable tools, sharpen worn equipment, harvest crops more efficiently, and bring down entire trees.
If you enjoy survival gameplay where upgrades feel earned, useful, and rewarding, Real Steel is built for you.
🔥 Forge Your Own Steel
Steel isn't something you simply craft — you make it.
Turning basic iron and coal into finished steel requires a multi-step process:
-
Arrange 8 Iron Nuggets in a hollow square to create Iron Dust.
-
Grind Coal into Coal Dust.
-
Combine Iron Dust and Coal Dust into a Steel Blend.
-
Smelt the blend into Raw Steel.
-
Blast it into a Hot Steel Ingot.
-
Quench the hot ingot in a water-filled cauldron to finish your Steel Ingot!
💧 Quenching matters!
Every Hot Steel Ingot consumes one level of water from the cauldron.
Steel takes more work than ordinary materials, but that's the point — every ingot feels earned.
🛠️ Steel Tools
Put your freshly forged steel to work with a complete collection of durable tools:
-
Steel Axe
-
Steel Pickaxe
-
Steel Shovel
-
Steel Hoe
-
Steel Shears
-
Steel Scythe
Steel provides a strong, long-lasting alternative for survival players who want another progression path beyond simply rushing toward diamond and netherite.
🪨 Sharpen Your Tools with an Emery Stone
Why throw away a good tool just because the edge is getting dull?
Craft an Emery Stone using stone, sand, and Iron Dust, then use it to restore durability to supported tools.
Simply hold the damaged tool in one hand and use the Emery Stone from the other.
Emery Stone Stats
-
Restores 20 durability per use
-
Provides 128 sharpening uses
-
Requires no XP
-
Requires no enchantments
-
Works with tiered tools, Steel Scythes, and Shears
It's a simple, practical way to keep your favorite equipment working longer.
🌾 Harvest More. Click Less.
Large farms shouldn't mean clicking every single crop one at a time.
The Steel Scythe turns harvesting into a much faster and more satisfying job.
Right-click a fully grown crop or supported ground-cover block and the scythe will harvest a 3×3 area centered on your target.
Better yet, renewable crops such as:
Sugar Cane • Cactus • Bamboo • Kelp
keep their base block intact so they can grow again automatically.
The harvesting system also supports compatible modded crops, making the Steel Scythe useful well beyond vanilla farming.
🪓 Bring Down Entire Trees
No more chopping a giant tree one log at a time.
Real Steel includes a built-in tree-felling system that allows supported axes to bring down connected trees — including large 2×2 trunks and branches.
Nearby leaves are harvested along with the tree and still provide their normal drops.
Your choice of axe matters, too:
-
🪵 Wooden Axe: No tree felling
-
🪨 Stone Axe: 3 durability per harvested block
-
⛓️ Iron Axe: 2 durability per harvested block
-
💎 Diamond Axe: 1 durability per harvested block
-
🔥 Netherite Axe: 1 durability per harvested block
-
⚙️ Steel Axe: 1 durability per harvested block
-
Higher-tier compatible axes: 1 durability per harvested block
Because the system uses Minecraft's standard log and leaf tags, compatible modded trees can work automatically too.
❤️ Why Real Steel?
Real Steel started as a personal project with one simple idea:
What if Minecraft had an Emery Stone for sharpening your tools?
That small idea quickly grew into something much bigger — a complete steelmaking and utility system designed around making survival progression feel more deliberate without turning it into a grind.
The goal is simple:
More satisfying progression. Better tools. Less tedious work.
Real Steel rewards the extra effort of forging steel with equipment that's practical, durable, and genuinely useful throughout your survival world.
And this is only the beginning.
More features, improvements, and mod compatibility are planned for future updates.
