RampLoom

Fast modular building with editable walls, floors, ramps and roofs, material upgrades and cascading collapse.

RampLoom

Fast modular building for Minecraft Java 1.21.1 / Fabric.

Build walls, floors, ramps and roofs with a blueprint. Edit their shapes, upgrade wood to stone and metal, and watch unsupported structures collapse from the bottom up.

Multiplayer: Co-op and online multiplayer have not been play-tested. Multiplayer support is experimental.

Build with a blueprint

Craft four sticks in a 2×2 square into a Blueprint and hold it in your main hand. Choose a piece with 1–4 and left-click to place it. Hold the button to keep building while moving; the first click is immediate and the initial repeat delay is configurable.

Pieces snap to a shared 3×3 grid. Turn to place four walls around your cell, continue ramps upward or look sideways to build alongside them. Choose 3×3, 3×1 or 3×2 sizes; aim to choose the narrow strip or pair inside the cell. Grass and thin snow are cleared; solid terrain and containers are protected.

Edit, expand and upgrade

  • Edit walls into windows and doorways, open floors, draw connected ramp routes and adjust roof corners.
  • Expand narrow pieces in the editor for materials. 3×1 → 3×2 costs 2, 3×1 → 3×3 costs 3, and 3×2 → 3×3 costs 2 units.
  • Purchased size and strip positions are remembered. Shrinking an edit does not refund materials; resetting restores the whole purchased shape for free.
  • Use an interactive mod door or choose an empty doorway in the settings.
  • Repair pieces and upgrade wood → stone → metal while keeping their shape.

Initial costs are 5, 2 and 3 for 3×3, 3×1 and 3×2 respectively: half the piece area, rounded up. Walls use height × width; other pieces use forward length × width. Wood consumes planks, stone cobblestone and metal iron ingots. Creative mode consumes no materials.

All materials have three mining stages. Axes mine wood faster; pickaxes mine stone and metal faster. A complete piece remains solid until the final stage.

Supports and collapse

Structures need a connected terrain foundation. Removing the last support causes dependent pieces to collapse in waves from bottom to top, with debris. Another intact foundation can hold a connected structure. Unloading a chunk is not treated as destroying its supports.

Installation

  • Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Java 21.
  • Fabric Loader 0.16.0+ and Fabric API for 1.21.1.
  • Put the playable RampLoom JAR in mods; keep only one version installed.
  • For experimental multiplayer, the same RampLoom version and Fabric API are required on every client and the server.

Sodium and Iris are optional; shaders are not required. Back up worlds before updating. Existing pieces keep their positions; old 2×2 and 2×1 pieces remain readable but cannot be newly placed. Do not downgrade a world saved with 0.6.x.

Public beta

Singleplayer has been tested. Co-op and online multiplayer have not been play-tested; multiplayer support is experimental. Large constructions and active shader packs need further testing. Exact parity with another game is not claimed.
