Description

Raffman´s Titles

Earn a title worth showing off. Raffman´s Titles adds 1,000 individually named cosmetic titles, unlocked through the time you spend and the things you do on your server. Titles never grant buffs, attributes, or combat advantages.

A collection you can explore

Press K or use /titles to open a fantasy title book. Browse categories, search by title or objective, filter locked and unlocked entries, and see exactly what each title requires. Each title shows its own progress and can be previewed before you unlock it.

Unlock titles through server playtime, mining, defeating creatures, crafting, collecting items, using and wearing out tools, and other tracked activities. Every title has one unlock condition. There are no numbered I–X title ladders. For example, Rich Kid requires mining 100 diamond ores, including their deepslate variant.

Cosmetic identity

  • Titles appear above players, in player chat messages, and in the tab list.
  • Overhead titles and usernames share a compact, lightly tinted transparent frame.
  • Eight animated themes: Arcane, Ember, Frost, Void, Storm, Crystal, Solar, and Verdant.
  • Optional themed particles and Full / Reduced / Off effect settings.
  • Choose a title manually, use automatic selection, or select None.
  • Public playtime is optional and off by default. Players choose whether to show it.
  • The Others’ head titles menu switch hides other players’ overhead title frames and title particles on your own client. Normal names and chat/tab titles remain visible.
  • Adjust overhead size and background opacity in the client configuration.

Install the matching file

Install the mod on the server and every client. Use the same Minecraft version, loader, and mod build on both sides. No additional library mods are required.

Minecraft Loader required by this build Java
1.21.1 NeoForge 21.1.264 or newer within 21.1.x 21
1.20.1 Forge 47.4.28 or newer within 47.x 17
26.3 Forge 66.1.0 or newer within 66.x 25

Each download targets only its listed version and loader. The Forge 1.20.1 edition also contains 1,000 titles, using 31 replacement objectives for content introduced after 1.20.1. Other loader versions within the declared ranges are permitted by metadata, but the listed minimum builds are the ones used for development testing.

Language and settings

All 1,000 built-in names, unlock objectives, menus, and tooltips are available in English and German. Select your preferred language in Minecraft. Each client resolves the titles in its own language.

Client settings are in config/pttitles-client.toml:

  • showOtherPlayersOverheadTitles: show or hide other players’ overhead titles.
  • overheadScale: size factor from 0.4 to 1.2, default 0.7.
  • overheadBackgroundOpacity: background opacity from 0.0 to 0.6, default 0.18. Zero removes the background panel.
  • effects, titleDistance, and particleBudget: visual quality and drawing limits.

The size setting affects the shared overhead frame and its text on your client. It does not change the book preview or other players’ settings.

Progress and server behavior

Online time includes AFK time; offline time does not count. Existing vanilla statistics are used where available, and existing server playtime is imported on first join. Mob farms can count toward creature goals.

Normally placed ores are tracked after installation and excluded from title progress when mined again. The mod cannot retrospectively identify ores placed before installation, and unusual placement mechanisms from other mods are not universally covered.

Servers can replace the title catalog with a datapack. The technical mod ID remains pttitles.

Compatibility and beta status

This is the first public 1.0.0 beta. All three variants have been built and checked with automated logic tests. Minecraft server tests and collection-menu tests have also been run during development. The latest overhead rendering and visibility switch have additionally been checked in a NeoForge test world with a simulated remote player.

The latest Forge overhead changes still need confirmation with real multiplayer clients. Shader, rendering, chat, and nameplate mods may affect the result. The gallery shows actual Minecraft captures from the NeoForge 1.21.1 development client; test progress and the demonstration player are synthetic.

The project logo is AI-generated branding artwork, not an in-game screenshot.
