RadioCraft

Internet radio, cassettes, speakers and full concerts for Minecraft.
Stream real radio stations in your world, program cassettes, and (on 1.21.1) build a hi-fi setup, carry a boombox and put on live shows.

Supported versions

Not in 1.16.5 / 1.20.1: everything marked 🆕 below (speakers, cable, sync, boombox, concerts, microphone, radio colours and wall mounting, OGG/FLAC, glow and particles, new interface, 3D models).

⏳ The 1.21.1 build is waiting for CurseForge approval and may not appear under Files yet. Until it does, only the 1.16.5 and 1.20.1 files are downloadable.

📻 Radio (all versions)

• Place a Radio and point it at any direct MP3 stream, a .pls / .m3u playlist, or a local file.
• Set volume, hearing range and repeat with the Radio Editor.
• Activation: right-click, redstone, or always on.
• Tuner and Trap Circuit: cycle the activation mode and a redstone output (while playing / player in range) without the interface, for hidden traps.
• Admins can define station presets in config/radiocraft/stations.json.
• 🆕 Radios in wood, black and retro green, and wall-mounted.
• 🆕 A playing radio glows, lights its dial and lets out music notes.
• 🆕 Volume and range sliders, a retro-styled interface and 3D models.

📼 Cassettes (all versions)

Program tapes at the Cassette Maker with a label and a stream URL or file, then load them into any radio. The radio plays the tape until you eject it.
🆕 Breaking a radio or a Cassette Maker drops the tape inside.

🔊 Speakers, Cable & Sync 🆕 (1.21.1 only)

• Speaker Cable: connect up to 8 Speakers to a radio; each is set to Left, Right or Both for real stereo.
• Radio Sync Link: link radios you own so they mirror one stream in perfect time.
• Local files can also be OGG and FLAC, not just MP3/WAV.

🎧 Boombox 🆕 (1.21.1 only)

A portable radio that plays while held, and for you also while anywhere in your inventory. Others hear it louder the closer they are. It is carried up beside your head.

🎤 Concerts 🆕 (1.21.1 only)

The Stage Console runs shows: a setlist of URLs or files uploaded to the server, any number of linked radios and speakers playing the same second of the same track (latecomers join at the right spot), tracks downloaded in advance by nearby players, master volume, large range, start timer, repeat, a crew list, and redstone that follows loudness or beat for lights.
Live voice through a bound Microphone needs the optional Simple Voice Chat mod; without it the microphone does nothing.
Limits are set in radiocraft-server.toml.

Requirements

• 1.21.1: NeoForge 21.1+, Java 21. Optional: Simple Voice Chat.
• 1.20.1: Forge 47+, Java 17.
• 1.16.5: Forge 36.x, Java 8.

The MP3 decoder is bundled (and FLAC on 1.21.1).

Notes

• Sound plays on the client; the server stores settings (and on 1.21.1 the show clock).
• On a server, uploaded files are stored there so all players hear them.
• The local file browser needs a display (-Djava.awt.headless=false in some launchers).

You are responsible for the audio you stream or upload. RadioCraft only plays URLs and files you provide and does not distribute any station content.
