Pumpkin Hunter

Pumpkin Hunter is a horror-themed Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that adds a hostile hunter designed to stalk lone players during the night.

The mod focuses on tension, surprise encounters, and a unique enemy with its own weapon and hunting behavior.

The Hunter

The Pumpkin Hunter can appear in the Overworld at night under specific conditions.

It is designed to feel less like a normal hostile mob and more like a persistent threat.

When the Hunter spawns near a lone player, it immediately targets that player and begins the hunt.

The Hunter can:

• Track and attack nearby players

• Open wooden doors

• Move through cobwebs without being slowed

• Apply negative effects when hitting the player

• Become weaker or slower in strong light

• Despawn when its hunt is over or when certain conditions are met

• Use its own unique Hunter’s Axe

The Hunter is intended to create unexpected horror encounters without constantly overwhelming the player.

Hunter’s Axe

The Hunter carries a unique throwable axe.

Main stats:

• Melee damage: 10

• Attack speed: 0.8

• Throw damage: 8

• Throw cooldown: 7 seconds after the axe returns

The axe can be thrown using right click and automatically returns to its owner after the throw.

It does not require Loyalty for its return mechanic.

The axe can be enchanted like a normal axe and additionally supports Channeling.

When a thrown Hunter’s Axe enchanted with Channeling hits a target under valid vanilla Channeling conditions, lightning strikes the target.

The axe:

• Does not lose durability

• Cannot be destroyed by fire

• Cannot be destroyed by explosions

• Supports normal axe enchantments

• Supports Channeling

• Does not support Loyalty

Hunting Behavior

The Hunter is primarily intended to attack isolated players.

Natural spawning is restricted so that encounters remain relatively rare and noticeable.

When a hunt begins, the Hunter immediately locks onto the selected player instead of wandering around first.

This makes each encounter feel more deliberate and dangerous.
