Description
Night Cult — Survive the Darkness!
Night Cult is a Minecraft Forge mod that introduces mysterious nighttime cultists, dangerous enemy patrols, powerful Dreadsteel equipment, and unique weapons with special combat abilities.
As darkness falls, hostile cultists begin roaming the Overworld, searching for unsuspecting travelers. Encounter different types of enemies, survive dangerous ambushes, collect rare materials, and craft powerful weapons and armor.
Each weapon features its own combat mechanics, giving players new ways to fight, explore, and survive.
Whether you're playing alone or with friends, Night Cult adds new challenges, valuable rewards, and exciting combat encounters to your Minecraft world.
Nighttime Cultist Patrols
The main feature of Night Cult is its dynamic nighttime patrol system.
Instead of spawning like ordinary hostile mobs, cultists appear in organized groups near players during the night.
Patrols can contain different combinations of enemies, making encounters more unpredictable and dangerous.
Three Types of Patrols
Normal Patrol — 60% Chance
A small group consisting of:
-
2–4 regular Cultists.
-
1 Cult Priest.
-
3–5 enemies in total.
Elite Patrol — 25% Chance
A more dangerous group consisting of:
-
1–4 regular Cultists.
-
1 Elite Cultist.
-
1 Cult Priest.
-
3–6 enemies in total.
Ritual Patrol — 15% Chance
The most dangerous patrol formation:
-
1–3 regular Cultists.
-
2 Elite Cultists.
-
2 Cult Priests.
-
5–7 enemies in total.
Ritual patrols present a serious challenge, especially for players who are poorly equipped or unprepared for combat.
Patrol Spawning Mechanics
By default, patrols follow these rules:
-
Spawn naturally in the Overworld at night.
-
Appear between 28 and 36 blocks away from eligible players.
-
Require sufficiently dark areas with a light level of 6 or lower.
-
Spawn on suitable outdoor terrain with access to the sky.
-
Never spawn within 50 blocks of the world's spawn point.
-
Have a 15% chance to attempt spawning during each scheduled check.
-
Check for patrol spawning every 2 minutes.
-
Apply a 60-minute cooldown to a player after a successful patrol spawn.
-
Allow a maximum of 5 registered patrols and 30 patrol members in the Overworld by default.
All these values can be adjusted through the server configuration.
The system is designed to create occasional dangerous encounters rather than constantly overwhelming players with enemies.
New Hostile Mobs
Night Cult introduces three types of hostile cultists, each with different combat characteristics.
Cultist
The standard member of the Night Cult.
Default Stats:
-
Health: 24 HP (12 hearts).
-
Base Attack Damage: 4.
-
Experience Reward: 8 XP.
Regular Cultists use different types of weapons and can engage players in melee or ranged combat.
Some Cultists can throw harmful potions, making them dangerous even when fighting from a distance.
Although individually weaker than other cult members, groups of regular Cultists can quickly overwhelm an unprepared player.
Elite Cultist
A stronger and more dangerous version of the regular Cultist.
Default Stats:
-
Health: 40 HP (20 hearts).
-
Base Attack Damage: 6.
-
Experience Reward: 15 XP.
Elite Cultists feature:
-
Increased health and combat damage.
-
Better equipment and armor.
-
Stronger weapon enchantments.
-
Improved combat effectiveness.
-
Higher chances of dropping valuable resources.
They frequently accompany regular Cultists during elite and ritual patrols.
Cult Priest
A ranged enemy that supports other members of the Night Cult.
Default Stats:
-
Health: 32 HP (16 hearts).
-
Base Attack Damage: 2.
-
Experience Reward: 20 XP.
Cult Priests specialize in ranged combat and use bows to attack their enemies.
They can create additional pressure during group encounters by attacking players from a distance while other Cultists engage in melee combat.
Special Drop: Cult Priests have a 10% chance to drop the Ritual Dagger.
Dreadsteel — A New Crafting Material
Defeating Cultists rewards players with a chance to obtain Dreadsteel Fragments, the primary crafting material introduced by the mod.
Fragments can be combined with a diamond to create Dreadsteel Ingots.
These ingots are used to craft special weapons and the complete Dreadsteel armor set.
Dreadsteel Fragment Drop Chances
| Enemy | Base Drop Chance | Fragment Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Cultist | 22.5% | 1–2 |
| Elite Cultist | 32% | 2–4 |
| Cult Priest | 55% | 4–6 |
The Looting enchantment can increase the quantity of fragments obtained.
Defeating Cultists with the Cultist Cleaver or Ritual Dagger guarantees Dreadsteel Fragments, providing an additional reason to use these weapons while farming materials.
Cultists can also drop damaged equipment, potions, ammunition, and other items.

-
Poison.
-
Weakness.

Wither.

Blindness.

Darkness.
The complete armor set offers excellent protection against dangerous enemies that rely on negative effects.
This makes Dreadsteel armor especially valuable for challenging PvE encounters and modded survival adventures.
