🧾 About:

Project Rankine takes inspiration from natural processes to bring over 50 stone types, hundreds of minerals and blocks, and the entire periodic table into the game. This mods tries to bridge the simplicity of vanilla mechanics with natural progression schemes with important chemistry interactions. This blend has led to a plethora of new and revised mechanics that leads players down new paths in the game.

The mod affects all stages of the game, but primarily alters progression up through collecting diamonds. Even though some aspects of the mod may seem challenging, we encourage you to discover your own methods of playing and "break" progression through creative (not creative mode) means.

It can be a great companion for other mods that want to outsource where their materials come from. Or used as a way to spice up recipes in a modpack. We are always looking to increase compatibility and the shared experience for all players and developers. None the less, Project Rankine is sure to bring unique, creative and interesting gameplay to your modded environment.

🌎 Features:

An extensive underground system that incorporates new stones, soils and minerals.

Crushing, a new method of mining,. By using hammers (only sometimes the 3x3 kind), extract additional materials from stone and ore blocks. This process can also be automated using pistons. Unlike traditional crushing systems, this one has unlimited outputs and most blocks have many outputs by default. This creates a network of resources for almost any application.
Custom alloy tools and components. Introducing a percentage based system for tools stats. Alloys are created with an elemental composition which impacts their function when crafted into a tool, weapon or armor. New elements and alloys, and therefore unique toolsets, can be added via datapacks.
A plethora of other mechanics to acquire materials, including tree tapping for fluids and distilling air for gasses.
Thousands of blocks to use for functional or decorative purposes.
New recipe types for datapack/modpack customization. Nearly all machines recipes and some non-machine mechanics can be modified or added to via datapacks. See our Wiki for recipe guidance.
Custom JEI recipe GUIs to visualize the new processes.

🔗 Compatibility:

The mod has an extensive config file for tweaking all of your feature tweaking needs.

A handful of custom recipes waiting for cross-mod play. This includes all sorts of integration from aspects of Create, BYG, Twilight Forest and more!

The largest drawback for the mod is that not all worldgen mods are created in the same manner. Some custom biomes are built different. For mod versions 1.3.7 and below, use the "biomeGen" and "oreGen" options in the config to adjust worldgen in vanilla or modded biomes. Most biome mods are compatible with the default settings, but it is known that Terralith and Incendium do not work by default.
