Project Hero 0.16.4

THE HULK -- COMPLETE REVAMP How he comes out

  • Only two things change you into the Hulk now: HOLD H, or dying as Banner (every time, no limit). Rage no longer changes you on its own, and calming down is gone completely.
  • Six different transformation animations, picked at random each time, all standing: a quick change, a forced change, a shirt-tearing heave, pounding the ground as he grows, arching back to scream at the sky, and stumbling forward as he grows. Banner's elbows and knees now bend properly during the change.
  • A real transformation instead of a cross-fade: Hulk green spreads through your own skin from the chest outwards, with dark veins leading it, while your shirt tears away and your body swells, then the Hulk bursts out under a gamma flash, torn cloth and a roar. Changing back runs the same thing in reverse.
  • No progress bar or text in the middle of the screen while you change. The change itself shows it.
  • Once you're the Hulk, he won't let you change back for 3 minutes ("The Hulk won't let you go yet."). After a willing change back, H won't bring him out again for 1 minute ("The Hulk doesn't answer your call."). There are no timers for either; dying still forces the change.
  • Dying as the Hulk: he falls flat on his back, slowly shrinks back into Banner, and you die 2 seconds later.

Rage, size, health and speed

  • Only the Hulk has rage, and the bar only shows in Hulk form. Rage running out never changes you back, so you can stay the Hulk as long as you like.
  • Rage sets his size and strength: 3.5 blocks tall at 0 rage up to 6 blocks at 100.
  • Health follows rage too: 2 bars (40 HP) at 0 rage up to 3 bars (60 HP) at 100. Your health percentage carries over as it changes.
  • Punches land 15 at 0 rage and 25 at 100. Every move scales the same way.
  • Much faster: +120% movement speed, plus +20% more when Angry and +40% when Enraged.
  • 4-block step assist: he walks straight up 4 blocks at any size.
  • Hold Sprint and move forward to plough through soft blocks. Trees, leaves, dirt and the like no longer stop him dead.
  • Damage numbers for every Hulk move (and Gladiator Hulk) were rebalanced to match.

The new kit

  • R Super Punch: an 8-block cone that smashes blocks too. Shift+R Ground Smash with cracked ground.
  • G Thunderclap: a sonic cone with knockback and stagger that shatters glass. In mid-air, the clap stops you dead and the recoil launches you the OPPOSITE way to where you aim (clap at the ground to go up, clap ahead to fly back). Shift+G Fault-line Stomp: a fissure races 16 blocks forward launching mobs into the air.
  • Z Bulldozer Charge: barrels 12 blocks forward carrying mobs on his shoulders and flinging them aside. Shift+Z Launch Uppercut.
  • X Super Leap: hold to charge for up to 2 seconds (the bar sits right above his ability boxes). A tap is 25 blocks, half charge 100, full charge 500. He keeps his speed all the way, with ground cracks at take-off and a shockwave on landing.
  • C Gamma Burst: spends rage on a blast of gamma energy all round him. Shift+C Earth Wall: tears up a real wall of earth in front of him that crumbles after 10 seconds.
  • V Grab: picks up the mob you look at. Then HOLD V to wind up the throw: a tap tosses it 20 blocks, a full charge 300. The throw goes exactly where you aim -- at the block or mob you're looking at, straight down into the ground, up at the sky.
  • Thrown 100 blocks or more, it lands like a meteor: a crater, cracks, a shockwave and extra damage, growing all the way to 300 blocks.
  • Shift+V Debris Throw: rips a chunk of the ground you stand on out (it looks like the real blocks) and throws it the same way. Shift+V while looking at a target within 10 blocks: the "puny god" slam -- he grabs it and smashes it into the ground 4 times.
  • N Roar: weaker mobs flee in fear.

WORLD BREAKER

  • At 100% rage, press H: for 30 seconds he grows to 10 blocks tall with glowing green veins, rage stays pinned at 100, and his damage, area of effect and destruction are all doubled.
  • A huge "HULK IS STRONGEST THERE IS!!!" title for everyone within 64 blocks, and a deep layered roar.
  • Afterwards: a 60-second Burnout (rage frozen at 0, Slowness, Weakness, Mining Fatigue) and a 5-minute cooldown.

THE RAMPAGE

  • Every minute as the Hulk he tries to take over. A warning shows a string of 6 to 8 arrows: type them with the arrow keys within 6 seconds (a wrong arrow starts it over). Miss it and he RAMPAGES.
  • During a rampage he attacks EVERY creature within 100 blocks, squad members included. He now actually lands his punches and uses his whole kit (punches, smashes, uppercuts, claps, stomps, charges, throws and leaps), and only breaks blocks when he's stuck.
  • Your view is forced into third person and the picture shrinks into a screen inside a black frame, with an old-TV look: scanlines, a green tint, a rolling bright band and darker edges.
  • To take back control, hit Space when the closing ring meets the circle, 5 times in a row (a miss resets the streak).
  • Lose 3 warnings in a row and the Hulk takes over completely for 5 minutes: he smashes, heads for the mountains, carves himself a cave, sits in it, then runs off, and you wake up as Banner.
  • As Banner, after 10 minutes and then every 2 minutes, he fights to get out: lose the arrow warning and he forces the change and rampages for 3 minutes.
  • He never gets stuck: trees in his way are smashed, and if there's no rock face he digs a pit instead.

THE MIND SCREEN (Banner's death)

  • When Banner dies and the Hulk breaks out, you're shut inside your own mind: a dark stone hall with a giant screen 100 blocks away, showing the Hulk's rampage live in third person.
  • Walk to it (WASD and sprint), look at it and right-click to take your body back -- the camera dives into the screen and drops you back in. It can't be done in the first 10 seconds, and if you never make it, the Hulk lets go on his own after 4 minutes.

THE GAMMA ORIGIN

  • Overloading the Gamma Reactor while dosed now gives a 10-second green flash seen by everyone nearby. You brace and absorb glowing energy, the reactor blows, and you're pulled into your mind: a dark room with a mirror where the Hulk is your reflection, always looking you in the eye. Press H and he smashes through the mirror and grabs you, and you're sent back to slowly transform.
  • Your body stays standing in the world, hunched and clutching its head, while you're gone.
  • The mind dimension now has its own eerie atmosphere: a constant low drone, cave sounds from every direction, a slow heartbeat, creepy music, dark fog and falling ash (the Ambient volume slider controls it).

SPIDER-MAN

  • After a swing, Zip Boost or glide he keeps his speed in the air until he lands, and WASD steers him.
  • Web Wings now fly like an elytra: dive for speed, pull up for height.
  • Falling a long way tips him into a head-first dive, arms swept back. A web, the wings or the ground rights him.
  • Cocooned players can struggle free: alternate A and D quickly to fill the struggle bar.
  • A mob held by a woven web or tightrope breaks free the moment it stops touching the web, and Shift+right-click tears a web-stuck target free.
  • Suit v2 now uses the PS4 Advanced Suit look, and there's a new Classic Spider-Man Suit (made from the original suit piece plus red and blue dye and string).
  • The Black Suit is now skin-tight like the other suits instead of a thick shell, and its symbiote voice is far less chatty with its own Spider-Man lines.

OTHER POWERS AND EVENTS

  • Moon Knight's Cape Glide flies like an elytra too.
  • Punisher's Warzone works properly: holding Z no longer keeps restarting the call. This also fixes held ability keys being read as repeated presses for every power, and Shift+key combos coming out as the plain move.
  • Galactus raid: the Silver Surfer has one board again, phases through blocks and can't get stuck in the ground. Punishers spawn outside their converters. Galactus walks slowly toward you, and once the pylons are down his body can be hurt (not just his hand).
  • Frost Giant Assault: back to 5 waves, and the warm/cold readout sits just above your armour bar.
  • Steel has a new show-accurate model: a white hood, cyan ring eye, side fins and long arms with glowing strips.
  • Stopping a street crime now also rewards iron ingots and food as well as emeralds.

Server owners: config files update themselves to the new defaults where values changed (Hulk, Spider-Man, Frost Giants, Galactus, crime). Settings you changed yourself are kept unless the change needed them reset.
