Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
General improvements
- Added addon API support.
- Added BIOS. Before booting directly into the OS there is BIOS POST messages and 5 seconds timer message. During 5 seconds you can press DELETE key which lets you open BIOS. BIOS shows configuration of the computer block you're on. Depending on the BIOS and computer block you can change the configuration.
- Depending on the Operating System shell can interprete its own syntax.
- Added supported shell syntax dialects:
- Thompson (UNIX v6)
- Thompson (UNIX v5)
- Bourne (UNIX v7)
- Bash (POSIX with GNU extensions such as && || ! [[ ... ]])
- POSIX (IEEE 1003.1, 1988+)
- MS-DOS COMMAND.COM syntax (Supports > >> < | and ;)
4. Changed order within which the executable command is found.
For MS-DOS: executables -> built-in -> commands from peripherals -> no command found.
For UNIX v7: shell built-in -> executables -> GNU built-ins -> no command found.
Virtual File System changes
- Added driver bays and drives. Computer block now can have predefined amount of drive bays that can be used (e.g. one floppy drive bay)
- Now VFS is able to read mount points (filesystem from internal drives and external drives). Root filesystem (e.g. C:\ for MS-DOS) would have to be mounted which happens automatically on the boot.
- Improved VFS file operations. Added file operation return code with the error message per OS.
- Added removable disk media support for Floppy Drives, Blu-rays, CD, CD-ROM, DVD and etc. The filesystem for each removable disk media is saved as NBT tags on the item of the disk media.
Drivers and peripheral devices:
- Added "Hardware LPC Minecraft Command Translator" block through which you can execute Minecraft commands directly from your computer block.
- Added drivers for the "Hardware LPC Minecraft Command Translator" per OS. For example, MS-DOS have "MCCMD.SYS" file as in "DRIVERS/MCCMD.SYS".
- Operating system has been divided into kernel which loads the drivers and the devices. If device found then the driver (if registered) will be automatically added on its corresponding directly (if such exists. otherwise driver will be still accessible. just not from fielsystem e.g. from kernel for Unix v7)
- For MS-DOS 6.0 has been added TUI application MSD (Diagnostics) which shows the Hardware and Software information of the computer block. Additionally, it can show how to install the drivers to use the detected devices.
- For MS-DOS file CONFIG.SYS finally have meaning because this is the place through which you load drivers now.
QBASIC improvements
- Added new commands: VIEW, SELECT - CASE, WAIT, INPUT, WIDTH, DEF, SUB, CALL, INKEY.
- Added new display mode: SCREEN 7 (EGA).
- Commands that support more arguments: SCREEN.
- Improved syntax for inline commands e.g.
px=70 : py=40.
5. Before exiting the application if you have unsaved changes a prompt will appear that will ask you to save the changes.
Addon API changes
- Added API for easy creation of TUI apps such as QBasic, MSD and etc.
- Added API to register drivers and devices.
- Added API to register executables (so they would be resolved and workable for operating systems).
- Added API to create BIOS(s)
- Added API to create custom computer blocks so they would work with the mod codebase.
