Description
Pool Table
A proper pool table for Minecraft. Grab a friend (or play on your own) and have a game of 8-ball.
The balls behave like real ones. They spin, bounce off the cushions, rattle in the pockets and roll into the ball return under the table. You can put follow or draw on the cue ball, and every clack and thud sounds the part.
Getting started
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Pool Table | 3 green wool on top, 3 planks in the middle, a log in each bottom corner |
| Pool Cue | 2 sticks going diagonally, with blue dye at the top right |
The table is 3 x 5 blocks and goes down in front of you, so make sure there's space. You'll also find everything in the creative menu.
How to play
- Right-click the table with an empty hand and press Sit here. Once two people have sat down, the game starts. You can sit in both seats if you want to play yourself.
- When it's your go, right-click with your cue to step up to the ball. Left-click steps back.
- Move the mouse to aim, then hold right-click to pull the cue back and let go to shoot. The longer you hold, the harder you hit.
- Sneak for finer aiming, and scroll to hit the ball higher or lower for follow or draw.
A line on the table shows where the cue ball is going and where the ball you hit will go.
After the break you aim from right behind the cue ball. When you shoot, the camera floats up so you can see the whole table, and you can look around with the mouse while the balls roll. Left-click if you'd rather go back to your own view. Don't like the camera? Turn it off in the table menu.
The rules
Normal pub 8-ball. Pot one of your balls (solids or stripes) and you go again. Clear all of yours, then pot the 8 to win, but pot the 8 too early and you lose.
Potting the white, missing everything, or hitting the other player's ball first is a foul, and your opponent gets to put the cue ball wherever they like.
If fewer than two people are sitting at the table, it's in practice mode and anyone can have a go.
Extras
- Dye the cloth any colour by right-clicking the table with a dye.
- Cue racks to keep your cues in. Hang one on a wall or stand one on the floor, then right-click it with a cue to put it away and with an empty hand to take one out.
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Wall Cue Rack | Sticks down both sides, with a plank in the middle of the top and bottom rows |
| Floor Cue Rack | A plank on top of a stick, on top of 3 planks |
Good to know
- For Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. You don't need any other mods.
- It needs to be installed on the server and on everyone's game.
- Works with Sodium and Iris.
- Server owners can turn the aiming line down or off in the config.
- You're welcome to use it in modpacks.
