Polished UI

Polished UI is a client-side Forge mod for Minecraft 1.8.9 that modernizes the game's interface while preserving its familiar vanilla feel.

It adds fluid animations, customizable visual effects, improved inventory transitions, contextual FOV controls, enhanced chat features, and a polished in-game configuration menu.

Main Features

Interface Animations

• Smooth slide and fade animations when opening supported interfaces.
• Adjustable animation duration, scale, and direction.
• Designed to make menus feel smoother without changing their functionality.

Custom Backgrounds

• Customize interface background colors and opacity.
• Fully transparent interface backgrounds.
• Transparent multiplayer player list (Tablist).
• Customizable top-to-bottom gradient overlays.

Blur

• Adjustable background blur for supported interfaces.
• Configurable blur radius.
• Automatically detects active shaderpacks and displays a compatibility warning.

FullBright

• Adjustable brightness control.
• Restores the player's original Minecraft brightness when disabled.

FOV Changer

Configure a different field of view depending on the player's current action:

• Default FOV
• Sprinting FOV
• Speed effect FOV
• Slowness effect FOV
• Flying FOV
• Adjustable bow zoom intensity

The normal Minecraft FOV setting is preserved and restored when the module is disabled.

Smooth Swap

• Smoothly animates items moving between inventory slots.
• Adjustable animation speed.
• Fully customizable animation curve.
• Includes a real-time preview inside the settings menu.

Enhanced Chat

• Smooth typing and chat-opening animations.
• Multiple typing animation styles.
• Adjustable chat history and input background opacity.
• Option to preserve unfinished chat messages when Minecraft closes the chat during deaths, teleports, dimension changes, or similar transitions.

Chat Heads

• Displays each player's skin head next to their chat messages.

Game Assist

Is a client-side module designed to provide useful gameplay assistance features. It currently includes Fireball Alert, mainly intended for game modes such as BedWars, more features may be added in future updates:

Fireball Alert

• Detects nearby Fireballs within a configurable distance.
• Displays directional warnings based on where the player is currently looking.
• Configurable warning size and opacity.
• Optional Fireball counter when multiple Fireballs are detected in the same direction.
• Configurable counter size, opacity, and color.

Profiles and Configuration

• Create multiple configuration profiles.
• Quickly switch between different setups.
• Mark modules as favorites.
• Search for modules directly from the main interface.
• Settings are automatically saved between sessions.

Compatibility

• Minecraft 1.8.9
• Minecraft Forge
• Client-side only - no server installation is required.
• Designed with compatibility in mind for OptiFine.

Note: The Blur effect cannot be used at the same time as an active shaderpack.

Installation

1. Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.8.9.
2. Place the Polished UI .jar file inside your .minecraft/mods folder.
3. Launch Minecraft using the Forge profile.
4. Press K to open the Polished UI configuration menu.

The keybind can be changed from Minecraft's Controls menu.

Polished UI is distributed under a custom All Rights Reserved license.

Re-uploading, mirroring, redistributing, selling, or publishing modified versions of this mod is not permitted without prior written permission from the author.

CurseForge modpacks may reference Polished UI through its official CurseForge project page, but the mod's .jar file may not be bundled, re-uploaded, or hosted elsewhere.
