Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
PixelCross 4.4.2
Everything new and fixed since 4.0.5. PixelCross is now more than a crosshair editor: the hotbar and status bars can be moved and resized, the HUD has optional animations, and the cursor editor got a full set of drawing tools.
✨ New
Move & resize the status bars
The hotbar editor (Move Hotbar & Bars in settings) now also handles the status bars: hearts, armor, food, air, mount health and the experience bar. They always move and resize together as one block.
- Bars: Move with Hotbar (default) — the bars ride on top of the hotbar.
- Bars: Move Separately — drag them anywhere on their own. Switching modes doesn't make them jump.
- Bars Size slider (50–200%), independent of the hotbar size.
- Rows that aren't showing right now (armor, air bubbles, or everything in creative) appear as 50% placeholders in the editor, so you always see the whole block. Placeholders never show in normal play.
- Soft magnet snap: the hotbar and bars glide onto the center guide lines, and the line lights up when they snap.
- Yellow outlines only while dragging, hugging just the bars that are actually there.
- Reset Position glides everything back to vanilla. Esc cancels.
- Other mods' additions on those bars (e.g. saturation overlays) move with them.
Animations screen
A new Animations... button in settings. Every animation has its own switch and settings, and all are off by default.
Hotbar
- Slot slide: the real vanilla selection highlight slides smoothly between slots. There's no extra outline drawn on top, and resource-pack selection textures slide too.
- Style: Smooth / Springy: springy overshoots a little and bounces back.
- Slide time: 50–300 ms.
- Wrap around: going from the last slot to the first (and back), the highlight fades out at one edge and fades in at the other, carousel-style.
Crosshair (with the PixelCross crosshair)
- Hit pulse: the crosshair briefly grows when you attack, and keeps pulsing while you mine. Adjustable size.
- Target reaction: the crosshair smoothly zooms in while you aim at a mob. Adjustable zoom.
- Both share one springy motion, so hitting a mob you're aiming at bumps the already-zoomed crosshair.
Cursor editor
- Undo / Redo: Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y (or Ctrl+Shift+Z), or the ↶ / ↷ buttons, up to 50 steps. A whole brush stroke is one step. Fill, rotate, flip, Clear, Reset and loading a preset can all be undone.
- Symmetry drawing: two toggles, mirror left/right, up/down, or both for all four quarters. Drawing, erasing and fill are mirrored, and axis lines on the grid show what's mirrored.
- Clear a preset: Ctrl + Click a preset slot (A/B/C) to empty it.
- Cursor size from 0.5× to 5×, in steps of 0.5. The default stays 1×.
- Tooltips on every button and slider: in the cursor editor, the Animations screen, the hotbar & bars editor and on the presets (which also show whether a slot is empty or saved).
- New pixel-art icons for rotate, flip, symmetry and undo/redo, on neat square buttons.
Mod Menu support
- A Configure button next to PixelCross in the Mod Menu list opens the settings. Mod Menu is optional: PixelCross works the same without it.
- When settings are opened from the main menu, Move Hotbar & Bars is greyed out (there's no HUD outside a world), with a tooltip saying why.
🔧 Changed
- In Vanilla style, opacity is now locked at 100% like the colors are locked to white, matching the real crosshair. Switching to Flat unlocks it with your saved value intact.
- The preview window has a fixed size and draws the cursor exactly as in game.
- Hint texts and headers on the settings screens are white and easier to read.
- Hotbar Reset glides back smoothly instead of snapping.
🐛 Fixed
- The PixelCross crosshair is now exactly centered at every size. Before, bigger sizes drifted right/down.
- Hit pulse and target reaction grow the crosshair evenly from its center (small crosshairs used to grow only right/down).
- The preview window no longer grows with the cursor and runs over the palette.
- Settings-screen text that could be invisible now shows correctly.
- Status bar outlines in the editor are the right size and no longer overlap the hotbar outline.
- The eraser swatch shows a clean, centered "X".
🤝 Compatibility
- Works with Immersive Hotbar. Its item animations and PixelCross's sliding selection complement each other, and moving/resizing the hotbar carries its animations along.
- PixelCross only hooks into hotbar or crosshair rendering when you actually use those features. If you keep the vanilla crosshair and default hotbar, it stays completely out of the way, which means fewer conflicts with other HUD mods.
- If PixelCross's crosshair drawing ever hits an error, that frame falls back to the vanilla crosshair instead of breaking rendering.
- Note: the black/yellow sky flashing some players saw came from SmoothPlayerAnimations reloading resource packs, not from PixelCross.
