Pixel Painter

I've always enjoyed creating art within minecraft. I really like Joy of Painting but always felt the i wanted to be able to paint on other surfaces. And other objects (like doors and chest). And entities (like boats and mobs).

Unfortunately, i have zero modding experience. Luckily, i have access to Codex so I asked it to build this mod. Which it has done a pretty good job of doing. The majority of this mod was completed in an afternoon. The painting on entities was not really thought of till my wife recommended it. That took a bit of time but eventually it got most of it down pretty good.

To paint, hold one of the paint brushes in one hand and whatever dye you'd like in the other. Right-clicking will paint. Hold shift to paint on chest and doors and boats. There is a new drop called horse hair which horses should shed occasionally or you can kill the horse to get a few hairs.

The easel and canvas are still a work in progress so there is no recipe for it just yet.

Theres also a stencil item that allows you to copy/paste your paintings. Right click on your painting with the stencil to copy it then right click somewhere else to paste it.

There is some mod compatibility (like small ships but only the cog) and i intend on adding more. Some modded mobs can be painted but it can be kinda wonky on some. Luckily, mobs can be washed off by dumping a bucket of water near them. There is some Create Aeronautics support but i havent fully tested it SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! The thing to remember with that is you'll need to paint on your craft after you assemble it and if you disassemble it, the painting will vanish.

I consider this a beta version for now because i haven't played a whole ton with it but i've had no issues with it besides some of the modded mobs paint not working correctly. I hope you enjoy and I hope to hear everyones feedback.
