✨ New in 4.1.1: Loot Beams Refork Integration
This update keeps PickLoot cards visually consistent with dropped items highlighted by Loot Beams: Refork.
- PickLoot now prioritizes the final rarity level and exact RGB color calculated by Loot Beams for dropped-item cards.
- Supports results produced by Loot Beams compatibility modules, custom rarities, and configured color overrides.
- The prioritized rarity works with both Rarity Border Mode and the classic animated rarity diamonds.
- Safe fallback: Loot Beams remains optional. If it is missing or its API is incompatible, PickLoot returns to its custom rarity configuration and built-in hierarchy.
- Crop cards continue using PickLoot's rarity system because crops are not dropped-item entities.
- Existing PickLoot resource packs remain fully compatible. No texture paths, rarity sprites, or animation files were changed.
Available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge across all supported PickLoot versions. All 21 builds compiled successfully and passed 508 automated tests without failures.
🌱 New in 4.0.0: Crop Harvesting Update
This major update expands PickLoot beyond item collection by introducing a complete crop harvesting system.
- Mature crops now appear as cards in the PickLoot interface.
- Harvest the selected crop using the regular pickup key.
- The "Pick Up All" action can now collect dropped items and harvest multiple mature crops.
- Immature crops are automatically excluded from the interface.
- Replanting & Seeds: Attempts to use seeds from the harvested crop or player inventory. If no seeds are available, it leaves the farmland fully hydrated. Permanent crops are reset to an earlier growth stage.
- Mod Compatibility: Optional crop adapters for Croptopia, Farmer’s Delight, Let’s Do: Farm & Charm, and Kaleidoscope Cookery.
- Security & Performance: Server-side maturity validation, distance checks, and block protection respect (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge). Network requests are strictly limited for optimal performance.
- Custom Crops: Modpack creators can add or correct crop definitions via
config/pickloot-crops.json.
Available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge (Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1 - 26.2).
🎯 Loot With Intention
Minecraft normally grabs anything you walk over. PickLoot gives that decision back to you.
- Automatic walk-over collection is disabled for PickLoot-managed drops.
- Press one configurable key to collect the selected stack, or a separate key to collect every nearby item.
- Scroll through loot with the mouse wheel or dedicated previous/next keys (with optional modifiers).
- Separate interaction distances for first-person and third-person gameplay.
- Moving in third person will not scramble the list. Existing cards remain stable, out-of-range items disappear smoothly, and new drops are added at the bottom.
✨ A Loot HUD That Feels Part of the Game
PickLoot is not another inventory window covering the screen. Its cards live inside the world and stay readable while you move. Choose between:
- Signature 3D mode: Semi-inclined cards with depth and personality.
- Flat mode: A compact, clean presentation inspired by modern action RPG interfaces.
Make it yours: Drag the loot list visually, scale panels independently, configure card counts, and read long modded names through smooth synchronized text scrolling.
🔎 Smart Filtering
The smart filter is disabled by default. When enabled via hotkey, PickLoot can hide ordinary clutter while preserving equipment and valuables.
- Persistent whitelist and blacklist.
- Inventory-based visual filter editor.
- Optional JEI integration to add displayed ingredients directly to lists.
- Nothing is deleted. Filtered items simply remain on the ground outside the PickLoot cards.
💎 Know What is Worth Picking Up
Every card can display a rarity diamond or use Rarity Border Mode, which colors the complete card outline and hides the diamond. Available tiers are NORMAL, COMMON, RARE, EPIC, LEGENDARY.
PickLoot uses a complete survival-oriented hierarchy. For modded items, it safely resolves rarity through published data, shared tags, conservative recognition of artifacts and high-tier materials, or the final result from Loot Beams Refork when available. You can create unlimited visual rarity colors without recompiling via config/pickloot-rarities.json.
🎨 Built for Modpack Creators
Turn PickLoot into part of your modpack's identity with official resource-pack support covering card frames, tutorial panels, rarity diamonds, masks, and custom selection sounds. PickLoot validates protected official-theme files and safely falls back to the built-in procedural HUD if files are incomplete.
🔧 Compatibility
PickLoot runs without optional integration mods, but supports the following:
| Integration | What it adds | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Configuration | Generated configuration interface | No |
| Just Enough Items (JEI) | Easier whitelist and blacklist selection | No |
| ItemPhysic | Compatible physical dropped-item rendering | No |
| Obscure Tooltips | Compatible effective rarity information | No |
