This is an Unofficial port of CaffeineMC's "Phosphor" Mod, Ported from Fabric to Forge.
Sulfuric for Forge
Sulfuric is a Minecraft mod which works to optimize one of game's most inefficient areas-- the lighting engine. It works on both the client and server, and can be installed on servers without requiring clients to also have the mod. With Sulfuric, the amount of time the game takes to generate chunks can be halved for some dimensions, and frame stuttering experienced while traversing the world can be significantly reduced. It's a no-compromises solution for improving performance either in single-player or large multi-player servers, and changes no features or behaviors of the vanilla game.
If you aren't using it already as well, my other optimization mods Hydrogen Reforged and Magnesium both pair great with Sulfuric and are fully compatible.
What doesn't the mod do?
While this is a significant improvement of vanilla's lighting engine implementation, it does not make any changes to how the light model in Minecraft works. In layman's terms, this mod does not change how light is rendered (except where bugs are fixed) or add new features to Minecraft. This allows the mod to work without being installed on the opposite end client or server. The fixes and optimizations provided by Sulfuric are specific to improving the lighting engine, keeping it small and self-contained. This mod doesn't cure all world generation lag or client-side hiccups, as lighting is only one part of the equation.
This is an unofficial port, this is not affiliated with The Original Phosphor.
Credit goes to The CaffeineMC for the original mod. Fabric Version

For now, this mod will be maintained in 1.16.5 and 1.18+.
Does this have built in dynamic lighting? In my singleplayer world I think I remember having dynamic lighting with just this installed and of course magnesium, but after a while when I created a server for me and my friends the dynamic lights stopped working, and I don't know when it started not working but I KNOW that I had dynamic lighting before.
Can you update this mod? This would be very useful...
In reply to Explodey_Wolf:
Radon is a more up-to-date version of a Forge port of Phosphor. I recommend using it instead: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/radon
Can you update this and the other two mods to 1.18.1?
In reply to Hadies123:
Try some of these mods https://www.curseforge.com/members/asek3/projects
Which one should I use?
Starlight or Phosphor?
Which one is the fastest? Which one improve more performance?
In reply to SlimySpeck:
Starlight is WAY better than phosphor, but starlight will not work with many mods
In reply to T3rmosTV:
This one is compatible with starlight https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/phosphor-reloaded
In reply to SlimySpeck:
are you idiot? starlight is (almost) rewrite of lighting engine, and you think mod which try to improve OLD, UNMODED, VANILLA litghting engine will work together? NO...
In reply to SlimySpeck:
phosphor is much more stable but starlight is faster.
Thanks for working on this!
I see that this mod mentions that it can be installed on either the server or the client.
Does it do anything when it's on the client? If so, what are the benefits?
In reply to cameodamaneo:
yes
In reply to saiberous:
...could you elaborate?
In reply to cameodamaneo:
I have been slightly confusing, I am also wanting the answer, I did not notice that I was accidentally answering
In reply to saiberous:
lmao
In reply to cameodamaneo:
It improves the lighting engine, so it significantly improves performance.
In reply to cameodamaneo:
it speeds up internal server
1.18 forge pls
phosphor is now 1.17.1 on fabric
