Phantomanta

Transforms phantoms into manta rays that attack from the murky depths below.

A player, equipped with a trident, faces off against three phantoms in the Warm Ocean biome. Above them is the title "Phantomanta" stylized in all caps in a pixelated font. Below it is a subtitle that says "noun" in italics. At the very bottom of the image, below the player and the phantoms, a second subtitle says "Where it should have been to begin with."

Phantomanta transforms the normally airborne phantoms into manta rays that attack you from the murky depths below.

This is a relatively minor behavioral change to the pre-existing Phantom mob:

  • Phantoms will now spawn exclusively under the water.
  • They will hang around seagrass and kelp, circling around in the same way they usually do in midair.
  • Phantoms will jump out of the water to attack players if within aggro distance.
  • If above-ground for too long, Phantoms will fall back into the water.

This mod is pretty simple and bare-bones, so I will do my best to port it to a few versions, but no promises!
