Description

Soccer that plays by Minecraft's rules. Kick, curl, chip and dribble a ball around a pitch you build from blocks, then earn cleats, goalkeeper gloves and the Golden Ball from a Footballer villager. Works in singleplayer and on servers.
Playing
| Do this | Get this |
|---|---|
| Walk into the ball | Dribble it straight where you're facing |
| Left-click | Kick where you look. Power comes from the attack-cooldown meter: spam for taps, wait for full power |
| Sneak + left-click | A soft pass |
| Sprint + left-click | A power shot |
| Aim at the ball's right / left edge | It curls left / right (aim at the middle for a straight shot) |
| Aim at the bottom / top of the ball | Chip it / keep it low |
| Look down and tap a dropping ball | Keepy-uppy: it pops straight up (the count shows above your hotbar) |
| Let it drop on your head | Header where you look (look up to loop it, down to head it at the ground) |
| Right-click | Trap it dead, or recolor it with a dye |
| Sneak + right-click | Pick it up |
| Right-click the air with a ball | Throw-in |
The ground matters: ice keeps it rolling, slime is a trampoline, soul sand and honey are mud, wool and hay soak up bounces, and it floats on water. Target blocks give a redstone signal and bells ring when you hit them.

Building a pitch
- Goal Frame: joins up with neighbouring frames, so a stack makes a post and a row makes the crossbar.
- Goal Net: see-through netting for the back, sides and roof. It catches the ball.
- Goal Line: lay it on the floor inside the goal. When the middle of the ball is over it: GOAL! Dye it to show whose goal it is. Every goal sends a one-second redstone pulse, for your own fireworks or lights.
- Kickoff Spot: three seconds after a goal, the ball comes back to the nearest one (within 64 blocks).
Or spawn a ready-made 37 x 21 pitch with a red and a blue goal: stand where you want its corner and run /place template soccer:pitch ~ ~-1 ~

Gear and progression
- Soccer Cleats (leather boots + 2 iron nuggets): kick 10% harder, run a little faster, dye them any color.
- Goalkeeper Gloves: right-click a ball to catch it. Holding it, left-click punts it wherever you look and right-click throws it. You can only hold it for 6 seconds.
- Boot enchantments: Power Shot I-III, First Touch I-II, and Curve I-III (never from the enchanting table: buy it from Footballers or wandering traders).
- Footballer villager: give a villager a Kit Rack (2 planks, 3 wooden slabs and a ball). They trade balls, cleats, nets, gloves, frames and enchanted books, and at master level the Golden Ball.
- Overworld Cup trophy: a Golden Ball and 6 gold ingots.
- Advancements under "Overworld Cup", and soccer stats (kicks, goals, headers, saves, best keepy-uppy) on the Statistics screen.

Settings
Each world has serverconfig/soccer-server.toml (gravity, bounciness, rolling, kick and pass speed, curve strength, dribble strength, glove hold time). Edit it while the game runs and the changes apply within a couple of seconds.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47 or newer
Install
