Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
New
- Insectoid igloo villages: insectoids now live in their own villages, in snowy plains.
- The village has seven snow igloos big enough for them, around an ice hearth (never a fire, which burns them). Each igloo is six blocks high under the dome, with a three-by-three tunnel entrance and ice windows. Inside are straw beds and a chest, under a hanging soul lantern.
- The chief has the largest igloo, with the tribe's chest. The merchant has a stall. A villager lives in each igloo.
- Every warrior is a berserker, level 40, wearing samurai armour and carrying one of the frost weapons. They throw ice shards at whoever stands out of reach.
- The chief is level 45. He breathes frost, raises ice pillars and gives quests, like other tribe chiefs.
- They are peaceful towards players they do not hate, and patrol the snowy plains like the other tribes.
- Their merchant sells the four frost weapons, the samurai armour, ice, fish and meat.
- Samurai armour: white lacquer with glacier-blue lacing and navy cords.
- It has a horned kabuto with a neck guard, a lamellar dō with tassets, large sode on the shoulders, haidate and suneate.
- Every race can wear it, and it fits every body: slim arms, skeletons, villager heads, lizardmen, tribes, insectoids, werewolves… The kabuto leaves the face open.
- Level 40. Each piece gives +2 HP and +0.5 damage. The full set gives +2 damage, +6% physical resistance and +20% knockback resistance.
- Frost weapons (level 36 to 40), made of pale blue frost steel. Their hits slow the target, and they protect from the cold while held.
- Frost Katana: two-handed, quick.
- Frost Wakizashi: a short one-handed blade that also makes the target bleed, and helps you dodge.
- Frost Nodachi: a huge two-handed blade with longer reach and a stronger chill.
- Frost Naginata: a long-hafted curved blade with the longest reach.
- All four are found on the warriors, in the chief's chest and at their merchant, with Better Combat animations.
Changes
- No more wild insectoids: they only live in their villages now; the insectoid egg remains.
- Frost giants appear a bit more often in cold biomes (12% chance per minute, up from 8%).
- Guide book: the tribes section describes the insectoid villages. The bestiary entries for insectoids and frost giants are updated.
