What's new
## New
- **New playable race: the Arachnoids**, Entoma's race.
- A spider head with eight eyes and fangs, four extra spider legs on the back, a chitin and silk body. Six colours to choose from.
- **Mask Bug** (racial ability, toggle): a living mask that gives them a human face.
- Passives: +6% dodge, keen senses (20 blocks), immune to Blindness and Darkness, and **wall climbing**.
- Spiders never attack them. Brood spiders and Arachnoids never attack each other.
- Weak to frost and to Vermin Bane.
- The living peoples attack them on sight unless they wear their Mask Bug.
- Racial abilities: Mask Bug, Spiderweb, Call of the Brood, Slashing Spiderweb and Breath of Fly (three times a day: larvae that eat away at the target).
- **New class: the Insect Tamer**, for Arachnoids only.
- Ten techniques: Blade Bug, Hard Armor Bug, Sharp Cutting Talisman, Bullet Bug, Lightning Bird, Strengthen Self, Thousand Lash Bug, Explosive Talisman, Lip Bug and Lightning Bird Swarm.
- Each technique exists as a skill book and as a scroll.
- Passives: −2 HP, +5% speed, stronger summons.
- **Brood spiders** (level 25, six colours): wild spiders found everywhere except the Katze Plains and mushroom islands. They come out at night, and by day anywhere dark.
- They climb walls, poison their prey and sometimes trap it in webs.
- Arachnoids can also summon them with Call of the Brood; summoned spiders take their master's colours.
- **Arachnoid nests**: underground tribe camps in great web-strung caverns around a nest of cocoons, with a chief, quests and a merchant.
- Their gear: the **Chitin Sickle** (bleeding and poison) and the **Arachne Silk** armour set (dodge).
- **Entoma** is now a true Arachnoid Insect Tamer.
- Below half health she reveals her spider form and becomes faster and stronger.
- She may also drop four new talismans: Lightning Bird, Explosive, Wind Blade and Strengthening.
- **The Great Tomb has a new look** (newly generated tombs only).
- It now lies at the bottom of a vast grassy bowl.
- At its centre stands a **great Greek temple**: a three-step podium, 8 × 12 columns, pediments and a gabled roof. It replaces the domed pantheon.
- Three ruined **colonnade rings** surround the temple, with six **domed rotunda mausoleums** between them.
- A flagstone path leads down to the temple through a gate, among bushes and small trees.
- The **underground floors are much larger** (54 × 54 instead of 34 × 34), and the throne room is 20 blocks longer.
- **Gun scope**: hold right-click to aim Azuth's heavy machine gun or Shizu's rifle.
- In first person, the gun slides to the middle of the screen and the view zooms in (×1.8 for the machine gun, ×3 for Shizu's rifle).
- Your mouse slows down to match, then a pixel-art scope with a stadia reticle covers the screen.
- **Jaldabaoth** is now a **guild boss hunt** (Boss tab of the guild board). Lizardman and tribe chiefs no longer offer him.
- **Dead dark oak trees** and broken trunks now dot the Katze Plains.
## Changes
- **Guns**:
- Left-click fires (hold it for continuous fire) and right-click aims. Sneak + right-click still switches the fire mode.
- **Every shot flies straight to the red dot.** Recoil no longer pushes you back: the gun itself kicks up and shakes with each shot, in first and third person. The full Powered Suit (machine gun) or an automaton body (Shizu's rifle) holds it much steadier.
- **New models** based on the anime:
- Azuth's gun: a long dark-red heavy rifle with a stepped fore-block, a long thin barrel with a big flash hider, and a front-facing scope.
- Shizu's rifle: a pale grey-green bullpup with a slim scope.
- Both guns are held with the right hand on the pistol grip and the left hand on the side grip.
- Shizu's rifle now has a full-auto mode (the default, 4 shots per second); sneak + right-click switches to single shot.
- **Doppelgängers** now take **all the passives** of the race, lineage and class of the individual they copy, strengths and flaws alike, and give up their own while transformed.
- Level-based passives stop at 80% of the copied individual's level (90% in the soldier uniform). For example, copying a level 100 player only grants the passives of a level 80.
- Their gear stays their own.
- Wild doppelgängers do the same.
- **Appraisal** no longer unmasks a transformed doppelgänger: it reads them as the individual they copied. In their true form, it still shows them as a doppelgänger.
- **Detection** now unmasks transformed doppelgängers nearby (sparks and a count). While it lasts, the caster's Appraisal shows their true nature.
- **Guild territories**: monsters no longer spawn in claimed chunks. Animals still do.
- **The Pleiades and the wild undead no longer attack each other**, and neither do the spiders Entoma summons. The undead summoned by players still fight them.
- **Level 1 now grants stat points**, as many as each later level gives your race (e.g. 3 for an Overlord). A level-100 human has 100 points instead of 99. Existing characters receive the missing points when they log in.
- **Goblins** now appear in every Overworld biome except the Katze Plains, like ogres, trolls, nagas and Venerables.
- **The mod's structures are about 70% more common.** They still never overlap.
- **Better performance**, without changing anything in the game:
- Gold coins on the ground no longer search the area for players every tick.
- A frost giant stuck against a wall no longer rescans its surroundings every tick.
- Affliction flames are cheaper to draw.
## Fixes
- Bafolk camp chests can now contain skill books and scrolls, like the other tribe camps.
- The Pleiades no longer appear on the roof of the Great Tomb's portico.
