Curse Maven Snippet
Early release of OAD for 1.18.1 with a lot of changes to ore generation.
Early release means there's a chance of bugs or unintended design.
I've tested for many hours and I fixed all the ones I came across already but I could have missed some. So please report them to me so I know about them!
Ores now have a disappear chance if they are exposed to air.
- In the overworld, it is set to 0.7 by default which is an unweighted average of vanilla diamonds' disappear chance.
- In the nether, it is set to 0.8. I decided on this because the nether has so many exposed netherrack and I wanted to encourage strip mining in the nether.
- In the end, it is set to 0.9. I decided on this to balance out people walking on the surface of the end biomes in a straight line until they find ores
- All 3 of these settings are customizable. I did not spend that much time testing out the feel of all these numbers, so please feel free to pick your own in the config file.
Overworld ores were reworked to behave similarly to vanilla diamonds and gold.
With the new elevation changes, Amethyst's height range is now -64 to 8 and Black Opal's max height is now -64 to 0.
The density of the ores now increases the lower you go, just like vanilla diamonds. To maximize your chances, go deeper!
The tooltips are not updated yet, I'm gonna fix those soon.
Probably more changes I forgot to remember.
Please feel free to leave suggestions about the balance or suggestions about features. I'll try my best to implement them!
