What's new

First release for Minecraft 1.20 and 1.20.1 - one file covers both.

Eleven handheld ore detectors - Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Quartz, Copper, Coal, Amethyst, Netherite, Lapis Lazuli and Redstone. Right-click a surface and the detector scans into it and reports what it finds in the action bar, tinted to the ore's colour.

  • Directional scanning - 16 blocks down, 8 sideways or up, across a configurable column.
  • Exact counts, not a vague hint: "Detected 4 Iron Ore nearby".
  • Durability and repair - 1 use per scan plus 1 per ore found; repair in an anvil with the detector's own material; Mending and Unbreaking both work.
  • Per-detector cooldowns - using one detector never puts your others on cooldown.
  • In-game config via Cloth Config, reachable from Mod Menu: reach, column radius, cooldown, durability multiplier and beep volume, all bounded.
  • Sculk sensors hear the beep, so mind where you scan in an Ancient City.
  • Optional - Universal Ores: the Coal, Iron, Gold, Copper, Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, Emerald, Diamond and Quartz detectors also count its andesite / diorite / granite / tuff / calcite / blackstone / basalt ore variants, reported together with the vanilla ore. Works on both 1.20 and 1.20.1.
  • Optional - Create Fabric (1.20.1 only): adds a Zinc Detector, craftable with zinc ingots, which finds Create's zinc ore in both stone and deepslate.

Unofficial continuation of Ore Detector by restonic4 (MIT).
