What's new

First release for Minecraft 1.21 and 1.21.1 — one file covers both.

Eleven handheld ore detectors — Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Quartz, Copper, Coal, Amethyst, Netherite, Lapis Lazuli and Redstone. Right-click a surface and the detector scans into it and reports what it finds in the action bar, tinted to the ore's colour.

  • Directional scanning — 16 blocks down, 8 sideways or up, across a configurable column.
  • Exact counts, not a vague hint: "Detected 4 Iron Ore nearby".
  • Durability and repair — 1 use per scan plus 1 per ore found; repair in an anvil with the detector's own material; Mending and Unbreaking both work.
  • Per-detector cooldowns — using one detector never puts your others on cooldown.
  • In-game config via Cloth Config, reachable from Mod Menu: reach, column radius, cooldown, durability multiplier and beep volume, all bounded.
  • Sculk sensors hear the beep, so mind where you scan in an Ancient City.
  • Optional — Universal Ores (1.21.1 only): the Coal, Iron, Gold, Copper, Lapis Lazuli, Redstone, Emerald, Diamond and Quartz detectors also count its andesite / diorite / granite / tuff / calcite / blackstone / basalt ore variants, reported together with the vanilla ore. Universal Ores has no 1.21 build, so this applies on 1.21.1 only.

The Zinc Detector is not available on Fabric at this Minecraft version — Create ships for NeoForge only on 1.21.1.

Unofficial continuation of Ore Detector by restonic4 (MIT).
