Optional Suffering
A small companion mod for PureSuffering.
PureSuffering invasions leave you waiting for dawn while mobs pile up. This mod adds another way out: fight back. Kill enough enemies during an invasion and it ends early.
How it works
- A boss bar shows your kills and the goal during an invasion (plays nicely with HUD mods like Jade).
- Hit the goal and the invasion ends. Leftover invasion mobs are cleared (optional).
- Clearing an invasion plays a victory fanfare, with the end message shown in green.
- Default goal is 30 kills. Everything below is configurable.
Invasion stakes
- Escalating goals: the world's first invasion needs fewer kills than later ones.
- Luck penalty: in packs with a Chance/luck system, each failed invasion lowers your Chance and each cleared one raises it (down to a floor), per player.
- Day-time guard: keeps the day counter (and PureSuffering's day-invasion gate) correct even when another mod resets the world time.
- Dimension entry grace: after you enter a dimension or log in, no invasion can start there for a short delay (default 25 seconds), so you are not ambushed the instant you step through a portal. Works with every kind of teleport.
Config
- firstInvasionKills / laterInvasionKills: kills needed to end the world's first invasion (default 20) and every later one (default 30).
- dimensionEntryGraceSeconds: grace window after entering a dimension, 0 disables. Default 25.
- perPlayer: every player must reach the goal, or pool everyone's kills together.
- clearInvasionMobs: clear the remaining invasion mobs when the invasion ends.
- showHud: show the on-screen counter.
Gameplay settings are server-side, so on a server the host stays in control.
Requires
