Obituary Exchange

Ever died in a dangerous spot and couldn't get back to your grave? This mod lets you trade obituaries for your stuff back - no corpse run needed.

What it does

When you die with the Gravestone mod, you get an obituary. Normally you'd have to trek back to your death spot to get your items. With this mod, just run /exchangeobituary and your inventory gets restored from the obituary. Done.

Commands

/exchangeobituary - Trade your obituary for your items back
/retrieveobituary - Get your items back if you're within 15 blocks of your grave (destroys it)
/resetexchangecooldown - Reset your own cooldown (requires OP)
/resetexchangecooldown all - Reset everyone's cooldown (requires OP level 2)

Config

Everything's configurable in obituaryexchange-server.toml:

Basic stuff:

cooldown_minutes - How long between exchanges (default: 30)
consume_obituary - Whether the obituary gets used up (default: true)
allow_multiple_exchanges - Use the same obituary multiple times (default: false)
require_empty_inventory - Need 5+ empty slots to exchange (default: false)
drop_excess_items - Drop items that don't fit (default: true)
notify_admins - Tell OPs when someone exchanges (default: true)

Grave handling:

break_grave_on_exchange - Auto-destroy the grave when exchanging (default: true)
grave_search_radius - How far to look for graves in blocks (default: 50)
search_all_loaded_chunks - Search everywhere if not found nearby (default: false)

Whitelist system:

whitelisted_dimensions - Dimensions where you can exchange even if grave exists (e.g., ["minecraft:the_nether"])
whitelisted_structures - Structures where you can exchange even if grave exists (e.g., ["minecraft:stronghold"])

Graves in whitelisted places get auto-destroyed when you exchange - useful for dangerous spots like the Nether or End where going back isn't always an option.
