Overview

Not So Subtle Improvements is a Minecraft mod for Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, and the sister mod of Subtle Improvements.

The two mods work on their own or together, with one settings screen and separate commands and config files.

Core Philosophy

Subtle Improvements only adds things that could belong in vanilla. This mod goes a step further: its improvements are allowed to change how the game plays a little, such as chopping a whole tree in one swing.

They are still small improvements, not cheats. Every one removes tedious actions, keeps the game's costs (an axe still loses durability for every log) and never skips progression, reveals hidden information or duplicates items.

Like Subtle Improvements, every improvement should satisfy these principles.

  • Every improvement must be individually toggleable.
• Remove Friction
  • Reduce tedious, repetitive actions.
• Preserve Vanilla Gameplay (Somewhat)
  • Improvements should never provide unfair advantages or significantly alter gameplay mechanics. Though… these improvements are Not So Subtle.

Improvements

General

• No Trampling
  • jumping or falling onto farmland no longer tramples it.

Gathering

• Tree Feller
  • breaking a log with an axe fells the whole tree.
• Vein Miner
  • mining an ore with a pickaxe mines the whole vein.
• Hoe Harvest Replant
  • breaking a fully grown crop with a hoe replants it.
• Fast Leaf Decay
  • leaves left without a log decay within seconds instead of minutes.
